WHAT YOU WILL DO

The role leverages domain and business process expertise to detail product requirements as epics and user stories, along with supporting artifacts like business process maps, use cases, and test plans for the development teams. This role involves working closely with developers, Business Product Owner and other business analysts to ensure that the technical requirements for upcoming development are thoroughly elaborated. This enables the delivery team to estimate, plan, and commit to delivery with high confidence and identify test cases and scenarios to ensure the quality and performance of IT Systems.

You will specifically focus on Global Commercial Data & Analytics capabilities and be responsible for ELMAC & JAPAC (OUS) regions. Amgen is using fully integrated and best in class technologies, including AWS Redshift, Databricks, Airflow, GitLab, and Informatica (Data Integration technologies) to rapidly deliver incremental value and accelerate time to market.

This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams (Global Commercial Organizations, data engineering and other Product Owners and leaders) to co-design, upgrade, and implement data management capabilities.

This role will be responsible for technical development of a highly talented team that delivers high-end and innovative technologies.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with our Business and technical team to maintain an efficient and consistent process, ensuring high quality deliverables from the team.

  • Ensure delivery of your team activities each sprint and completion of features each quarter.

  • Work with Product Managers and customers to define scope and value for new developments.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data product enhancement opportunities.

  • Perform data analysis, troubleshoot issues, and support system implementation and maintenance.

  • Facilitate the breakdown of Epics into Features and Sprint-Sized User Stories and participate in backlog reviews with the development team. Plan activities each sprint, following SAFE methodology.

  • Support the development team throughout sprint execution by ensuring requirements are clear, addressing questions, and proactively removing blockers.

  • Develop and execute effective product demonstrations for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Maintain accurate and robust documentation of business requirements, user stories, processes, and changes in Confluence.

  • Document and report defects and issues identified during testing, and work with development teams to resolve them.

  • Maintain and ensure the quality and completeness of user stories in Jira.

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU

Basic Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience in Life Science/Biotechnology/Pharmacology/Information Systems

  • Expertise in a scientific domain and related technology

  • Proven analytical, data-driven problem-solving skills

  • Proven excellence in interpersonal skills, multitasking, persuasion, negotiation of critical issues, a strong attention to detail, and understanding of business complexity

  • Affinity to work in a DevOps environment and Agile mind set

  • Ability to work in a team environment, effectively interacting with others

  • Ability to meet deadlines and schedules and be accountable

Functional Skills:

  • Experience in writing user requirements and acceptance criteria in agile project management systems such as JIRA

  • Experience in managing product features for PI planning and developing product roadmaps and user journeys

  • Testing and validating that user stories delivered are corresponding to business expectations

  • Able to communicate technical or complex subject matters in business terms

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Able to work under minimal supervision

  • Excellent analytical and gap/fit assessment skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively with global, virtual teams

  • High degree of initiative and self-motivation

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities successfully

  • Team-oriented, with a focus on achieving team goals

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with / understanding of ETL tools

  • Experience with / understanding of dashboard tools (preferably Tableau)

  • Good level of SQL understanding

  • Jira (Align) & Confluence experience (good to have).

  • Experience in DevOps, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery methodology
