Sr. Instrument Technician- AML 6
What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role, you will perform calibration, repair, installation, and troubleshooting of instruments and control systems used across manufacturing, utilities, and analytical labs. Supporting the AML-6 Drug Substance organization, you’ll ensure that all work aligns with GMP regulations, Amgen policies, and Standard Operating Procedures—while working under a non-standard shift structure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform calibrations on process and utility equipment
- Maintain accurate records for calibrations, work orders, and instrument files
- Troubleshoot and repair systems including vial/syringe fillers, autoclaves, washers, portable tanks, and other equipment
- Support spare parts inventory management
- Operate and support plant equipment; escalate complex issues to senior staff
- Assist with startup activities to ensure new equipment meets design specs
- Help update and revise SOPs and job plans for calibration and instrumentation tasks
- Configure, troubleshoot, and repair microprocessor-based instruments and controllers
- Conduct regular certification of equipment to meet standards and internal requirements
- Maintain an up-to-date cGMP training record
- Participate in training to expand knowledge of instrumentation and plant systems
- Perform other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:
Associate’s degree and 4 years of Instrumentation experience
Or
High school diploma / GED and 6 years of Instrumentation experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a GMP-regulated environment
- Familiarity with areas such as manufacturing Equipment Operations/Maintenance and Process Equipment/System Maintenance
- CIP/SIP Operations and Maintenance
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with basic computer applications
- Ability to work both independently and in team settings
- Problem-solving attitude with willingness to seek external resources when needed
