SR. ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN
What you will do

In this vital role you will, under limited supervision, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical equipment following established guidelines and operating procedures. Conduct intermediate troubleshooting and employ knowledge to identify root cause and appropriate corrective actions to diagnose or avert equipment problems supporting Drug Product AML 14 Organization.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform advanced diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on electrical systems including panels, motors, switchgear, breakers, VFDs, and lighting.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical issues using tools such as multimeters, megohmmeters, and thermal imagers; interpret schematics, diagrams, and panel layouts.
- Monitor equipment for anomalies and take corrective actions to prevent failures and ensure safety.
- Adhere to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and all applicable safety protocols during work activities.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Facilities & Equipment (F&E), and external vendors to resolve high-risk or system-wide electrical issues.
- Document all maintenance and repair activities in compliance with cGMP, ALCOA+, and site SOPs.
- Ensure all work meets electrical codes, internal safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Stay current with SOP updates, electrical safety guidelines, and industry regulations.
- Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability and energy efficiency.
- Utilize maintenance tracking systems to manage tasks and work orders; prioritize based on production schedules, safety impact, and system criticality.
- Communicate task status, progress, and escalation needs across shifts and teams.
- Operate and perform start/stop procedures for generators and motors.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on breakers, relays, transformers, generators, motors, UPS systems, and related infrastructure.
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve issues with electrical equipment, including VFDs.
- Evaluate equipment performance and recommend efficiency improvements.
- Support capital and departmental projects as assigned.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas; perform routine housekeeping tasks.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of preventive maintenance and work order documentation.
- Be available to work extended hours, off-shifts, weekends, holidays, and during emergency events (e.g., hurricanes).
- Read and apply electrical drawings and single-line diagrams for troubleshooting and repairs.

Basic Qualifications:
Associate’s degree and 4 years of electrical maintenance/troubleshooting experience
Or
High school diploma / GED and 6 years of electrical maintenance/troubleshooting experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- State Electrician license
- Advanced knowledge of Power Distribution Systems, UPS Systems, Variable Speed Drives, Emergency Generators, Motors, Lighting, Breakers and Motor Control Centers.
- Basic understanding of process control systems, including those that are computer based.
- Has received training or hands on experience in such specialized subjects as electrical theory, theory of control, analog and/or digital electronics and the operation and maintenance of a wide variety of electrical equipment.
- Ability to effectively communicate ideas through verbal and written form.
- Ability to interact constructively with peers/teams and customers.
- Computer literacy (Windows environment: Word, Excel, Power Point).
