What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world! In this vital role will lead Engineering Process Support Organization at the AML7 Drug Substance Operations. Responsible for supervising, hiring, and developing staff. Ensuring operations uptime and activities are completed on time while maintaining safety, quality, and financial objectives.


Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead a team of engineers supporting 24/7 manufacturing operations, focused on equipment reliability and system uptime.
  • Plan, prioritize, and coordinate day-to-day engineering support and technical troubleshooting across manufacturing areas.
  • Support the execution of preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical direction for resolving process and equipment issues, including leading root cause investigations and implementing preventive measures.
  • Track and analyze equipment performance metrics (KPIs), identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead or support capital and expense projects related to equipment upgrades, process enhancements, and system improvements.
  • Ensure engineering documentation is accurate and updated, including change controls, validation protocols, and standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support investigations and regulatory inspections.
  • Promote a safe work environment, ensuring adherence to EHSS standards and supporting safety initiatives.
  • Support staff training, performance evaluation, and development planning in alignment with business needs.
  • Participate in the planning and coordination of plant downtime activities, ensuring proper execution of maintenance and engineering work.
  • Align with site-level engineering standards, and support global benchmarking initiatives when required.
  • Provide technical support during New Product Introductions (NPIs) to ensure seamless integration into operations.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree in Engineering

Or

Master’s degree in Engineering and 3 years of Engineering and/or Process Manufacturing experience

Or

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 5 years of Engineering and/or Process Manufacturing experience


In addition to meeting at least one of the above requirements, you must have previous managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation of resources. Your managerial experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced above.


Beyond that, additional preferred qualifications are:

  • Experience using PI Vision for data visualization and monitoring.
  • Familiarity with SIMCA software for multivariate data analysis is a plus.
  • Background in process manufacturing and/or engineering within drug substance production.
  • Proven ability to lead technical teams, with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Flexibility to support a 7/24, non-standard shift operations.
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience in budget planning and management.
