INSTRUMENT TECHNICIAN

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will maintain and calibrate critical instrumentation and control systems that ensure the precision, reliability, and compliance of processes used to manufacture life-changing therapies. 

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance, calibrations, and repairs on instrumentation and control systems in accordance with SOPs, calibration standards, and safety protocols. 

  • Assist in the setup, disassembly, and adjustment of measurement equipment and sensors; support changeover activities to ensure operational continuity. 

  • Follow cGMPs, SOPs, and safety procedures; complete required documentation, calibration records, and logbooks under supervision. 

  • Participate in scheduled calibration and maintenance programs, including generating and completing work orders and calibration reports. 

  • Support troubleshooting of instrumentation issues by identifying abnormal readings, bringing up issues appropriately, and collaborating with peers and senior technicians. 

  • Seek guidance from senior instrumentation or automation personnel to clarify task expectations, priorities, or when encountering complex system issues. 

  • Review technical manuals, calibration procedures, and internal resources to deepen understanding of instrumentation systems and compliance requirements. 

  • Communicate effectively with peers, shift leads, and supervisors to align on priorities, share updates, and ensure handovers are successful.

What we expect of you

We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The Instrumentation Technician professional we seek is a n individual contributor with these qualifications. 

Basic Qualifications:

Associate’s degree and 2 years of Instrumentation/Calibration experience 

Or

2 years in a technical school setting with hands-on experience

Or

High school diploma / GED and 4 years of Instrumentation/Calibration experience 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A craftsperson knowledgeable of pneumatic, mechanical, and electronic instrumentation.

  • Experience working with utilities equipment such as Water system, TOC, HVAC, Clean Steam, Compress air.

  • Conduct preventive maintenance on breakers, relays, transformers, generators, motors, UPS systems, and related infrastructure.

  • Has received training or hands on experience in such specialized subjects as analog and/or digital electronics, microprocessors and/or computers, and the operation and maintenance of particular lines of field instrumentation.

  • Ability to optimally communicate ideas through verbal and written form

  • Intermediate digital literacy

  • Experience with CMMS such as MAXIMO, SAP, etc.

  • Ability to interact constructively with peers/teams

  • Ability to seek outside resources as needed
