Senior Associate Planner (Amgen External Planning)

Let’s do this! Let’s change the world! In this vital role you will be part of the Amgen External Planning (AXP) Team, which is responsible for planning execution within the external manufacturing network.
The Senior Associate Planner reports to the Manager of Supply Planning at the Amgen India, Hyderabad site. In this role, the Senior Associate Planner is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely execution of external supply plans by managing system transactions, monitoring execution performance, and maintaining data integrity across planning systems. This role acts as a critical link between planning, CMO operations, and system data accuracy to ensure reliable supply delivery.
AXP is a critical component of Amgen’s Global Supply Chain, responsible for enabling reliable, efficient, and agile planning and delivery operations for Amgen’s CMO-sourced products. The Senior Associate Planner, based at Amgen’s Hyderabad site, will be a key member of this team and a foundational contributor to the External Planning work center, supporting the business performance and continuous improvement of planning operations.
This role requires strong planning skills, SAP expertise, data analysis, attention to detail, excellent follow-up and coordination skills, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities in a regulated GMP environment.
Responsibilities:
Planning Data Integrity and Maintenance
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and alignment across planning systems, maintaining a single source of truth
- Routine system data monitoring and analysis to sustain high data quality across SAP and RapidResponse (RR)
- Analyze gaps between actual execution and planning parameters, recommending adjustments as needed
- Monitor system alerts and generate data discrepancy reports to identify and drive resolution of data issues
- Proactively engage and follow up with planners and stakeholders to correct data inaccuracies
- Coordinate master data setup and updates in partnership with planners and master data teams
- Ensure timely creation of new material masters and alignment of planning parameters
- Support master data lifecycle activities (e.g., phase-in/out, obsolescence) through coordination and tracking
- Ensure all data and system transactions are compliant and accurate
Execution Monitoring & Operational Support
- Reconcile inventory across CMO reports and SAP, report discrepancies
- Proactively monitor inventory health (e.g. aging, expiry risk), coordinate with planners for risk mitigations
- Monitor planning system signals (e.g. negative balance, expiry, deviation), provide visibility to planners to resolve alerts/errors
- Monitor critical milestones (e.g., disposition, deviation closure, shipments) and escalate potential delays
- Escalate compliance, quality, and safety risks in a timely manner
- Ensure accurate reconciliation and proper documentation of batch records and shipping documents in accordance with procedures
System (SAP & RapidResponse) Execution & Transaction Management
- Execute system transactions to support planning operation activities, including:
- Purchase order lifecycle execution (creation, issuance, confirmation tracking, changes, closure)
- Establish and manage shipping lanes
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipment transactions (GR, PGI, delivery notes)
- Support product/material disposition and batch record reconciliation
- Ensure timely and accurate execution of transactions in compliance with GMP/GDP requirements
Monthly Planning Cycle
- Support analysis of demand and forecast changes, provide execution-level insights
- Analyze actual vs. planned supply performance (e.g., throughput) to identify gaps
- Monitor and track lead-time deviations, highlighting trends and potential risks to supply reliability

Basic Qualifications:
- Any degree and 5-9 years’ experience in Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, or Manufacturing within a regulated industry
In addition to meeting above requirements, you must have at least 2 years’ experience working in teams, projects, and programs. This experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced above.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology supply chain
- Strong planning skills with good understanding of supply chain flow and manufacturing processes
- Strong SAP transactional experience and familiarity with Kinaxis Rapid Response
- Knowledge of GMP and GDP requirements
- Understanding of quality systems (deviations, change controls, CAPAs)
- Strong data analysis, organizational and presentation skills
- Ability to manage complex coordination across global stakeholders
- High attention to detail and compliance mindset
