What you will do

In this vital role you will responsibile for all activities related to ongoing Enterprise Java Hosting service, support, automation, development, configuration, and operations management. While responsible for ongoing improvement of processes and applying best practices for the environment, the incumbent Sr Associate IS Engineer will work on Web Server, Application Server and related technologies that will be introduced into the Amgen environment containing WebLogic, Apache, JBoss, Tomcat, Automation via Ansible Tower, GitLab spread across Amgen’s Data Center and Cloud. Please note, this is an on-site role based in Hyderabad.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Support the Service Owner in the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of the technology service ensuring the offering is aligned with Amgen’s key principles.
Provide advanced monitoring, administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Java Hosting and Web infrastructure and related Amgen developed solutions while supporting Business Continuity and High Availability
Operate automation solutions and enterprise-wide scripts using tools, then recommend changes to procedures which result in operational optimization
Support the design, then implementation of relevant automation solutions that meet business requirements, are in line with defined strategies and compliance requirements, and are fiscally sound
Support projects from a technical aspect, then provide guidance that includes: reviewing scripts, playbooks, testing solutions, and providing feedback to less experienced technical staff and Managed Service Providers
Contribute to the development of technical standards and policies, while providing leadership in maintaining a server inventory, and system administration processes and procedures
Investigate, then resolve technical issues. Assist or lead Root Cause Analysis reviews, and support audit and security compliance issues (Amgen and government regulations)

Basic Qualifications:
Master’s degree and 4 to 6 years of Information Systems and/or Java Hosting/Web Hosting/Linux administration & one or more of Ansible, Python, Bash scripting OR
Bachelor’s degree and 6 to 8 Information Systems and/or Java Hosting/Web Hosting/Linux administration & one or more of Ansible, Python, Bash scripting OR
Diploma and 10 to 12 years of Information Systems and/or Java Hosting/Web Hosting/Linux administration & one or more of Ansible, Python, Bash scripting experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Industry Certifications and experience with WebLogic, JBoss or equivalent technologies
Demonstrated experience managing and administering large Java Infrastructure, related services and deployment pipelines with strong knowledge of Web Services, RESTful architectures etc.
Demonstrated in-depth experience in the following:
Docker, PaaS, Container Orchestration
Setting and managing Continuous Delivery Pipelines (tools like Jenkins, Git, Nexus, Maven etc.)
Performance tuning of Java application using APM tools, JVM diagnostics etc.
Configuration Management tools for managing public cloud infrastructure (e.g. AWS, Azure )
Command-line style management utilities, such WLST
Scripting languages, such as bash, python
Demonstrated experience with Windows/UNIX/Linux Operating systems
ITIL experience and managing regulated systems within Life Sciences sector
Strong working knowledge of Application Server Clustering and HA configurations
Solid grasp of TCP/IP networking fundamentals
Previous demonstrated analytical, negotiation, presentation, and persuasion skills in a high performance team

Shift Information: This position requires you to be onsite and participate in 24/5 and weekend on call in rotation fashion and may require you to work a later shift. Candidates must be willing and able to work off hours, as required based on business requirements.
