ABOUT AMGEN INDIA

Amgen India is located in HITEC City, a suburb of Hyderabad, occupying six floors of the RMZ Spire Tower 110. The city of Hyderabad, located in the state of Telangana, well known for its world-class talent across medicine, life sciences and data sciences and the rapidly advancing field of artificial intelligence (AI). The site can accommodate up to 3,000 people and is operational since Q4 2024. Amgen India will initially build and accelerate new technology solutions and digital capabilities at scale that will enhance efficiency across the enterprise The site will offer roles that strengthen key areas of Amgen’s business, including AI, data science, life science and other additional global capabilities over time.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Role Description:

The Sr Associate Software Engineer will contribute to the design, development, enhancement, and support of enterprise CRM and commercial technology solutions built on Salesforce and Conga CLM/CPQ platforms. This role is responsible for developing scalable application components, configuring platform capabilities, supporting integrations, and delivering high-quality solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.

The ideal candidate possesses strong software engineering fundamentals, hands-on Salesforce platform development experience, and understanding of enterprise business processes related to contract lifecycle management and configure-price-quote capabilities. The role requires active participation throughout the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, technical design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.

This position requires independent execution of medium-complexity technical workstreams, collaboration across global teams, and contribution to engineering best practices that improve platform scalability, maintainability, and operational efficiency.

You will be part of a team focused on Global CRM capabilities. Amgen leverages fully integrated, best-in-class technologies with Salesforce.com serving as the core platform architecture and business capability enablers such as Conga CLM and CPQ.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, enhance, and support scalable solutions on Salesforce and Conga CLM/CPQ platforms
  • Develop custom applications and platform capabilities using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL, Flows, validation rules, and Salesforce automation technologies
  • Configure and enhance Conga CLM and CPQ capabilities including templates, workflows, approvals, product configurations, pricing rules, and contract lifecycle processes
  • Contribute to technical design decisions and solution implementation approaches aligned with enterprise architecture standards and business requirements
  • Collaborate with product managers, architects, business analysts, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Build and maintain integrations between Salesforce and enterprise applications using REST APIs, middleware technologies, and integration best practices
  • Develop reusable components and optimize application performance, scalability, security, and maintainability
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards, development best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Execute and support deployment and release management activities across development, testing, and production environments
  • Support CI/CD processes, source control management, environment coordination, and release readiness activities
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application defects, integration issues, and production incidents while providing timely root cause analysis and remediation
  • Create and maintain technical documentation including solution designs, configuration details, integration specifications, and deployment procedures
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimation, retrospectives, and release planning
  • Monitor platform health and proactively identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and operational improvements
  • Provide technical guidance to junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing within the engineering organization

Basic Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s / Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field with 5 to 9 years of experience
  • 2+ years of experience in Salesforce development or enterprise application development
  • Hands-on experience with Apex, SOQL, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, and Salesforce platform development
  • Experience working with CRM and enterprise SaaS platforms such as Salesforce, Veeva, or similar technologies
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and DevOps concepts
  • Experience developing integrations using REST APIs, middleware technologies, or enterprise integration patterns
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across global teams

Functional Skills:

Must-Have Skills

  • Experience developing enterprise applications on the Salesforce platform
  • Hands-on knowledge of Apex, SOQL, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Salesforce Flows, and platform configuration capabilities
  • Understanding of Salesforce security architecture, data modeling, sharing rules, and governor limits
  • Experience with Git-based source control systems and CI/CD deployment processes
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum software delivery methodologies
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving application and integration issues in enterprise environments
  • Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable and maintainable technical solutions
  • Good-to-Have Skills:
  • Experience with Conga CLM and CPQ platform development and configuration
  • Familiarity with Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and enterprise CRM processes
  • Experience with integration platforms such as MuleSoft or other middleware technologies
  • Exposure to DevOps and release management tools such as Copado or Gearset
  • Understanding of contract lifecycle management, pricing, quoting, and commercial business processes
  • Salesforce Platform Developer, Administrator, App Builder, or Conga certifications
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks and deployment validation processes
