SAP TM Functional Tester (T‑Shaped Role) 

What you will do 

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and executing functional testing activities for SAP Transportation Management (TM) as part of a large‑scale S/4HANA transformation program. 

This is a T‑shaped functional testing role, where SAP TM is the primary area of deep expertise, supported by working knowledge of end‑to‑end business processes across R2R, OTC, PTS, and STP. You will ensure high‑quality delivery of integrated SAP solutions by validating cross‑process scenarios, integrations, and regression impacts during the S/4HANA journey. 

The role involves close collaboration with business users, SAP functional teams, and technical teams, along with exposure to test automation initiatives and modern testing practices. 

Roles & Responsibilities 

• Own and execute functional testing for SAP TM across S/4HANA implementation, conversion, and enhancement initiatives 

• Develop and execute test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, and detailed test cases aligned to S/4HANA transformation milestones 

• Validate end‑to‑end SAP TM business processes, including planning, execution, charge calculation, and settlement 

• Perform cross‑process integration testing involving: 

• R2R (Record to Report) – financial postings and settlement impacts from TM 

• OTC (Order to Cash) – sales, billing, and logistics execution touchpoints 

• PTS (Plan to Stock) – planning and execution dependencies 

• STP (Source to Pay) – procurement and logistics integration scenarios 

• Execute System Testing, Integration Testing, Regression Testing, and UAT support in S/4HANA environments 

• Ensure effective validation of SAP TM integrations with other SAP and non‑SAP systems 

• Identify, log, track, and retest defects using standard defect management tools

• Collaborate with SAP Functional Consultants, Developers, and Business stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve defects 

• Support UAT planning and execution, including defect triage and business user coordination 

• Identify suitable candidates for test automation and work with automation teams and frameworks 

• Prepare and publish test execution reports, defect metrics, and quality status updates

• Ensure adherence to testing standards, governance, and best practices across the program 

What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field 

• 5 to 8 years of experience in SAP Functional Testing / ERP Testing roles 

Preferred Qualifications 

Must‑Have Skills 

• Strong hands‑on experience as a Functional Tester in SAP landscapes 

• Deep expertise in SAP TM (Transportation Management), with clear understanding of: 

• Freight Order Management 

• Planning & Execution 

• Charge Calculation 

• Settlement 

• TM Master Data 

• Working knowledge of end‑to‑end business processes across R2R, OTC, PTS, and STP, with focus on integration and testing impact 

• Experience testing S/4HANA transformations, including conversion, simplification impacts, and regression scope 

• Strong understanding of testing methodologies and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC)

• Experience defining and executing test strategies for large SAP ERP programs

• Good understanding of logistics, transportation, and supply chain business processes

• Hands‑on experience with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., ALM, JIRA, SAP Solution Manager) 

Good‑to‑Have Skills 

• Knowledge of related SAP modules such as SD, MM, FI, CO, or EWM (process awareness level) 

• Exposure to test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Tricentis Tosca, SAP, Selenium, or similar) 

• Experience with SAP Solution Manager – Test Suite / ChaRM

• Understanding of integration concepts, interfaces, IDOCs, and data flows

• Familiarity with Agile / Scrum and hybrid delivery models
