ABOUT THE ROLE
Role Description:
The Sr. Associate SAP Integration Developer will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining integration solutions across Amgen’s ERP landscape. The role emphasizes SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) Integration Suite development and integration between on-premises and cloud applications. Working closely with senior architects, business stakeholders, and technical teams, this role ensures that integrations are secure, scalable, and aligned with Amgen’s enterprise architecture standards and “Clean Core” ERP strategy.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Design & Development: Develop and maintain SAP integration solutions leveraging SAP BTP Integration Suite (CPI, API Management, Event Mesh), SAP PI/PO, and related middleware tools.
- Integration Strategy Support: Contribute to Amgen’s integration roadmap by designing modern, reusable, and scalable integration patterns.
- Collaboration: Partner with Solution Architects, business teams, and system integration partners to deliver robust, secure, and high-performance integrations.
- Requirements Analysis: Work with stakeholders to translate business and functional needs into technical integration requirements and solution designs.
- Operations & Monitoring: Implement monitoring, alerting, and performance optimization for integration interfaces to ensure high availability and resilience.
- Governance & Quality: Adhere to Amgen’s integration governance processes, ensuring consistency, reusability, and compliance with enterprise security standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Evaluate emerging SAP BTP capabilities, integration tools, and best practices to enhance integration delivery and automation.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate technical documentation for all integration artifacts and contribute to knowledge sharing across teams.
Basic Qualifications and Experience
- Doctorate degree OR
- Master’s degree in computer science or STEM majors and 2 to 4 years of IT or related field experience OR
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or STEM majors and 4 to 6 years of IT or related field experience OR
- Diploma in computer science or STEM majors and 6 to 8 years of IT or related field experience
Technical Skills:
Must-Have Skills:
- Hands-on experience with SAP BTP Integration Suite (CPI, API Management, Event Mesh, Integration Advisor).
- Experience with SAP PI/PO or similar integration middleware tools.
- Strong knowledge of integration design patterns, APIs, BAPIs, IDocs, and OData services for SAP and non-SAP systems.
- Proficiency in developing end-to-end interfaces between SAP S/4HANA, cloud, and third-party applications.
- Solid understanding of authentication, authorization, and security standards (OAuth2.0, SAML, SSL).
- Experience with troubleshooting, monitoring tools, and performance tuning in integration environments.
Good-to-Have Skills:
- Familiarity with Cloud integration security concepts (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Exposure to SAP B2B Add-On for EDI integrations.
- Understanding of Agile/DevOps methodologies, CI/CD, and tools such as Git, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
- Working knowledge of event-driven architecture and asynchronous messaging patterns.
Professional Certifications:
- SAP Certified Development Associate – SAP Integration Suite
- Agile Certified Practitioner (preferred)
