The Scientific Communications Operations Manager is accountable for driving development, execution, and implementation of a wide scope of projects and technology solutions for Amgen’s Global Scientific Communications capability in India. Projects include execution of medical content and publications, literature surveillance, process improvements, AI and automation solutions, the integration of innovative tools and platforms into core processes, and training development and delivery.
Reporting to the Scientific Communications Operations Senior Manager, this global position will manage and continue to evolve the Scientific Communications Project Management capability and will establish cross-functional relationships with global stakeholders, including information systems and data & analytics partners, the Scientific Communications leadership team, and the business user community. Cultivating strong relationships in a highly matrixed environment is pivotal for success.
While there is heavy emphasis on project management coordination in this role, a successful candidate will be accountable for all Global Medical Operations responsibilities, including process standardization, business ownership and maintenance of technology solutions, training business users, optimizing performance, driving efficiency, and delivering effective solutions.
The preferred candidate will possess excellent prioritization and communication skills, demonstrated project management experience, and a proven track record of success in a heavily regulated environment. A drive to learn and a continuous improvement mindset are essential to succeed in this role.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Supervising medical content operations, including monitoring content creation, review, approval, and publication processes to ensure timely execution and alignment with medical, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
•Monitoring compliance procedures and documentation related to scientific publication lifecycles, proactively identifying process gaps and risks, and supporting the preparation of compliance reports, dashboards, and operational insights for leadership review.
Coordinating project management activities – including planning, execution, change management, deployment, training, and reporting – contributing to the successful execution of the SciComm strategic communication plan.
Driving user acceptance testing for new technology builds and enhancements.
Proactively communicating with stakeholders across functions and geographies to ensure strategic alignment and to seek opportunities for increased efficiency and innovation.
Serving as business authority, advocate, and point of contact on technology & process related issues within Global Scientific Communications in India.
Facilitating and participating in key governance forums and project sponsor meetings.
Collaborating with analytics leads to identify, implement, and managing key performance indicators, impact metrics, dashboards, and other analytic needs.
Continually assessing the landscape and proactively identifying opportunities to improve, standardize, or streamline business processes.
Partnering with the appropriate training experts and establishing pathways to assess and understand the educational needs of the capability audience
Supporting recruitment, coaching, mentoring, and development of operations team members as appropriate
Basic Qualifications and Experience:
Masters in Science field with 8-13 years of directly related industry experience along with good work experience in project management (PMP or DASM certification preferred)

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in life science, computer science, business administration, or related discipline
4+ years of experience with Salesforce, Veeva Vault, or similar technology platforms
Work experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences technology industry
Hands-on experience with AI and automation tools (e.g., Power Platform, UiPath, custom GPTs) to enhance and streamline business processes and workflows
Experience in leading systems or analytics projects
Strong understanding and experience in the use of performance management techniques, measures, problem solving, and analytical thinking
Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry guidelines, good clinical practice, good publication practice, compliance and regulatory guidelines, and legal/health system environment
Proficient in application software and analytical development methodologies in a validated system environment
Strong understanding of principals of customer service as applied to internal customers and external partners.
