Manager, Incentive Compensation, Squad
What you will do

The Manager, Incentive Compensation, Squad plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, transparency, and operational excellence of Amgen’s Incentive Compensation (IC) programs. This role serves as the end-to-end IC project lead and point of contact for US Team for an assigned business unit, responsible for managing IC processes, coordinating cross-functional activities, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality outputs across all incentive workstreams.
Responsibilities
End-to-End Incentive Compensation Project Management:
- Serve as the IC project lead and point of contact for US Team, overseeing all aspects of the IC lifecycle—from plan design inputs to final payout delivery.
- Develop and manage detailed project timelines, ensuring on-time execution of IC deliverables and dependencies.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align IC deliverables with business objectives and timelines.
- Anticipate risks, proactively communicate impacts, and ensure contingency plans are in place for key milestones.
Sales Crediting Rules (SCRs) Ownership:
- Create, document, and maintain Sales Crediting Rules (SCRs) as part of the incentive compensation plan design process.
- Translate business rules into clear, executable logic for implementation in IC systems and downstream data processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to validate crediting impacts and ensure alignment with sales performance metrics.
- Maintain a governance process for SCR version control, approvals, and archival for audit readiness.
Plan Document Creation, Routing, and Archival
- Lead the creation and coordination of IC plan documents and supporting materials for assigned business unit; manage routing and approval workflows.
- Ensure proper archival of all finalized plan documents and version control in compliance with audit standards.
- Maintain clear documentation of plan changes, approval logs, and communication materials.
Quality Control (QC) of IC Deliverables
- Oversee quality control across all deliverables including SCRs, crediting files, payout calculations, etc. to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Develop and enforce standardized QC processes, checklists, and review protocols.
- Partner with internal teams to perform detailed validations and root-cause analyses for discrepancies.
- Ensure audit readiness through thorough documentation and issue-tracking.
Core Incentive Compensation Expertise:
- Possesses a comprehensive understanding of end-to-end Incentive Compensation operations, including plan design, goal setting, sales crediting, contest administration, payout calculation, and performance analytics.

Basic Qualifications
- Master’s degree & 6+ years of experience in Incentive Compensation.
- Bachelor’s degree & 8+ years of experience in Incentive Compensation.
Preferred Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in Incentive Compensation, Commercial Operations, or Sales Analytics, ideally within the biopharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
- Proven experience designing and managing Sales Crediting Rules (SCRs) and administering end-to-end IC processes.
- Strong understanding of IC systems and data platforms.
- Demonstrated project management and cross-functional leadership skills.
- Proven ability to conduct thorough QC and compliance oversight of IC deliverables.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple, complex deliverables in a dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with SOX controls, documentation standards, and audit readiness requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with global teams.
- Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex IC concepts to non-technical audiences.
- High attention to detail, accountability, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to partner across functions.
