What you will do

Role Description:

The Finance Technology Manager at Amgen India is a Techno Functional lead responsible for driving innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across Amgen Finance processes. The role focuses on maximizing the value of existing technologies while accelerating the adoption of emerging technologies that enhance efficiency and decision-making. This individual will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, global Centers of Excellence, and the Digital Technology & Innovation Lab. The role reports directly to the Amgen India Finance Site Lead.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Partner with the Digital Technology & Innovation Lab to enhance support for existing and new Finance platforms.
  • Identify and develop use cases leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI), GenAI, Agentic AI, Machine Learning (ML), and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) to improve Finance processes.
  • Collaborate with global/co-located teams and Centers of Excellence to drive operational efficiency for Amgen India Finance.
  • Lead or support the implementation and change management of technology solutions within the Finance organization.
  • Serve as a key contributor to Amgen India’s continuous improvement and AI/ Automation/ Digitalization roadmap, fostering a culture of innovation.
  • Strengthen learning methodologies and support capability-building initiatives around new tools and technologies.

Finance Process, Technology & Data Management

  • Serve as the local Financial Systems & Data Subject Matter Expert (SME), helping teams troubleshoot issues and optimize usage.
  • Provide hands-on support for Oracle Hyperion (EPM) and Anaplan for budgeting, forecasting, and long-range scenario planning.
  • Support global/local Finance teams and business partners with centrally delivered dashboards and reporting solutions (Tableau and other BI tools).
  • Collaborate with global/local FP&A and Accounting teams to understand reporting needs and recommend aligned technology solutions.
  • Drive local adoption and effective use of Anaplan for operating expense planning and tracking.
  • Lead or support Finance technology projects at the site level and participate in broader global initiatives involving data, systems, or process transformation.

Finance Process Governance & Metrics Reporting

  • Establish and maintain governance frameworks for key Finance processes to ensure consistency, compliance, and process excellence.
  • Define, track, and report process KPIs and dashboard metrics across planning, reporting, analytics, and data quality.
  • Partner with global process owners to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and adherence to internal controls.
  • Monitor process performance, identify root causes of inefficiencies, and drive corrective actions.
  • Lead periodic Finance process reviews and present insights, trends, and recommendations to Finance leadership.
  • Ensure documentation of process maps, RACI matrices, SOPs, and governance controls is kept updated and audit-ready.

Functional Skills:

Must-Have Skills:

  • Proficiency in data analytics and business intelligence tools.
  • Experience with finance reporting and planning system technologies
  • Experience with technical support of financial platforms 
  • Knowledge of financial management and accounting principles.
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Resourceful leader who can “connect the dots” across matrixed organization

Good-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience in pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology industry.
  • Experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
  • Experience with global finance operations.
  • Knowledge of advanced financial modeling techniques.
  • Business performance management
  • Finance transformation experience involving recent technology advancements
  • Prior multinational capability center experience
  • Experience with Oracle Hyperion/EPM, SAP, Anaplan, Tableau/PowerBI, DataBricks, Alteryx, data lakes, data structures

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree OR
  • Master’s degree and 7 to 8 years of Finance experience OR
  • Bachelor’s degree and 9 to 10 years of Finance experience OR
  • Diploma and 10 to 12 years of Finance experience
  • Proficiency in data analytics and business intelligence tools.
  • Experience with finance reporting and planning system technologies
  • Experience with technical support of financial platforms
  • Knowledge of financial management and accounting principles.
  • Experience with ERP systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology industry.
  • Experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting and accounting, Finance Transformation and Digitalization
  • Experience with global finance operations.
  • Knowledge of advanced financial modeling techniques.
  • Business performance management
  • Finance transformation experience involving recent technology advancements
  • Prior multinational capability center experience
  • Experience with Oracle Hyperion/EPM, SAP, Anaplan, Tableau/PowerBI, Databricks, Alteryx, data lakes, data structures
