Amgen India is located in HITEC City, a suburb of Hyderabad, occupying six floors of the RMZ Spire Tower 110. The city of Hyderabad, located in the state of Telangana, well known for its world-class talent across medicine, life sciences and data sciences and the rapidly advancing field of artificial intelligence (AI). The site can accommodate up to 3,000 people and is operational since Q4 2024. Amgen India will initially build and accelerate new technology solutions and digital capabilities at scale that will enhance efficiency across the enterprise The site will offer roles that strengthen key areas of Amgen’s business, including AI, data science, life science and other additional global capabilities over time.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Role Description:
The Associate Software Engineer will help design, execute, and automate tests to ensure applications meet business needs and that critical systems perform reliably. You’ll translate requirements into test plans and acceptance criteria, build and maintain UI/API/functional automation, monitor quality and performance metrics, and support incident triage and post-fix validation to minimize downtime. You’ll work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to uphold quality throughout the release cycle—and learn from experienced QA professionals in a collaborative team.
You will be part of a team specifically focusing on Global CRM capabilities. Amgen is using fully integrated and best-in-class technologies, having Salesforce.com as core architecture & relying on business capabilities enablers such as Conga CLM and CPQ.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and implementation of test strategy and automation frameworks for Salesforce & Conga CLM/CPQ
- Own test plans and acceptance criteria for user stories; partner with engineers and product to define coverage
- Create and maintain test documentation, traceability, and environment/configuration notes
- Build lightweight test harnesses/POCs to validate automation approaches and edge cases
- Develop and run UI, API, and Apex/unit automated tests; maintain data-driven and end-to-end suites
- Reproduce, isolate, and document defects; collaborate on fixes and verify resolutions
- Translate business/technical requirements into clear test cases (positive, negative, and boundary scenarios)
- Lead the execution of unit, integration, regression, and smoke tests; track coverage and flakiness
- Assist in defect triage and prioritization, log actionable bugs with steps, data, and evidence
- Manage test data and sandbox environments (seeding, refreshes, SOQL checks) to ensure reliable runs
- Use CI/CD pipelines to run automated suites and enforce quality gates; support release readiness and post-deploy smoke tests
Basic Qualifications and Experience:
- 2-6 yrs of experience with Masters in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Familiarity with at least one programming language (Apex, Java, SQL, or similar)
- Strong interest in customer relationship management solutions such as Salesforce or Veeva
- Eagerness to learn and grow in a software development environment
- Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively
Functional Skills:
Must-Have Skills
- Basic understanding of Agile or Scrum methodologies
- Experience working on academic or personal software projects
- Curiosity about cloud-based platforms and system integration
- Basic knowledge of version control systems like Git & Release management tools
Good-to-Have Skills:
- Basic understanding of Salesforce.com architecture and objects
- Basic understanding of Conga CLM and CPQ architecture and objects
- Certifications related to Salesforce, Copado, Conga, or Safe are advantageous
Soft Skills:
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Comfortable to work effectively with global, virtual teams
- High degree of initiative and self-motivation
