Job Summary:

As an AssociateISEngineer at Amgen, you willbe responsible fordeveloping andmaintainingSalesforce applications to meet business needs. You will collaborate with a team ofBusiness Owners, Operations,software engineers,Architects, Product owners, Business Analysts,participatein the full software development life cycle, and ensure the delivery of high-quality code and solutions. Your strong programming skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail will contribute to the development of robust and scalable software solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement Salesforce Lightning components using LWC and Aura frameworks to enhance platform functionality and user experience.

  • Configure roles, profiles, permission sets, and region-wise security and sharing settings to ensureappropriate accesscontrol across user groups.

  • Create and customize standard and custom objects, page layouts, validation rules, record types, and formula fields to meet business requirements.

  • Develop andmaintainApex classes, triggers, Visualforce pages, and custom controllers as needed.

  • Design and implement integrations between Salesforce and external/internal systems using REST/SOAP APIs and middleware.

  • Utilize Copadodeployment toolsto manage source control, deployments, pipeline automation, and environment management in support of release processes

  • Apply Salesforce development best practices to ensure code reusability, maintainability, and compliance with performance and scalability standards.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve development or configuration issues duringlower environmentsand production support cycles.

  • Participated in design reviews, sprint planning, and code reviews, contributing to Agile/Scrum ceremonies and delivery cycles.

  • Maintain documentation including technical design, solution architecture, and release noteswhenrequiredfor enhancements and projects.

  • Ensure all development work adheres toGxP, CSV, and compliance requirements, including documentation traceability and audit readiness.

  • Collaborate with business analysts, QA, validation, and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable and compliant Salesforce solutions.

  • Stay up to date with Salesforce platform releases, new features, and emerging technologies to drive innovation and platform optimization.

  • Ensure to perform Unit testing on the functionality before moving to higher environments.

  • Able to support the operations team with User Access Management or Configuration changes or Data Migration activities on demand.

  • Ability to use Salesforce Rubric configuration and inculcate required assessment to calibre the functionality.

  • Ensure data integrity through effective use of SOQL, SOSL, data loader, and batch processes. 

  • Ability to adapt to the changing needs of the technical needs of the system.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s/master’s degree and over 2-6 years of Computer Science,ITor related field experience  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s/master’s in computer science, Information Technology, or a related technical field

  • 2-6 years of experience in Salesforce development including Lightning Components, Apex, Visualforce, and platform configuration

  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce security models, role hierarchy, sharing rules, and field-level access

  • Solid hands-on experience of implementing Salesforce Configurations, Apex, LWC, Aura

  • Strong understanding of Salesforce object model, workflows, validation rules, and triggers

  • Experience with Salesforce integrations using RESTful and SOAP web services

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD tools, and version control systems like Git

  • Proven experience working with Copado for deployment automation, CI/CD pipeline configuration, and release management

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues across multiple environments

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams supporting enterprise applications

  • Salesforce platform certifications are a strong plus.

Must-Have Skills:

  • Proficient in developing custom solutions using Salesforce Lightning Components (Aura and LWC), Apex classes, Visualforce pages, and Apex triggers, including batch classes and schedulers with exception handling.

  • Experience configuring standard/custom objects, fields, page layouts, validation rules, roles, profiles, permission sets, and region-specific sharing and access models.

  • Hands-on experience integrating Salesforce with internal and external systems using REST and SOAP APIs; familiarity with middleware for system interoperability.

  • Familiarity with DevOps tools, version control systems (e.g., Git), and CI/CD pipelines beyond Copado, contributing to efficient and traceable deployments.

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot platform issues,optimizeperformance, and explore emerging Salesforce features for continuous improvement.

  • Willing to learn andseekfor knowledge and contribute for the team’s progress and personal development.

  • knowledge on helping the stakeholders with the report’s generation using Salesforce reporting functionality.

  • Knowledge on creating rubric for prioritization and scoring of various elements in the applications.

  • Experience on writing queries and finding RCA & providing resolutions. 

  • Ability to adapt to the changing needs of the technical needs of the system.

Good-to-Have Skills:

  • Skilled in using Copado for deployment automation, CI/CD pipeline configuration, source control management, and environment management across multiple sandboxes.

  • Experienceparticipatingin Agile/Scrum teams, with knowledge of sprint planning, retrospectives, and iterative development workflows.

  • Deep understanding of Salesforce object model, workflows, formula fields, and Apex triggers customizing and extend platform functionality.

  • Exposure to pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare industries with an understanding of compliance and patient safety requirements.

  • Knowledge on ETL & Enterprise Data Lake, integration with Data Bricks & Building Pipelines.

Professional Certifications

  • Salesforce Platform Developer I (required)

  • Salesforce Platform Developer II (preferred)

  • Certified Scrum Developer orSAFeAgile (optional)
