SENIOR MANAGER, RELIABILITY ENGINEERING & WORK MANAGEMENT
What you will do

In this vital role you will be responsible for the department inclusive of asset management and reliability through the work order administrative, central inventory and reliability programs at the drug substance facility in ANC. You will be joining the Facilities & Engineering (F&E) team to partner closely with the Corporate Engineering team as well as all site functions.
This role will lead and develop a multi-functional engineering operations organization responsible for:
- Work order administration and CMMS process ownership
- Asset maintenance planning and scheduling
- Spare parts and MRO inventory strategy
- Reliability engineering and predictive maintenance programs
- Sustainability and energy optimization initiatives
- Engineering KPI and business performance reporting
Establish long-range maintenance and asset reliability strategies aligned with site operational goals, regulatory compliance requirements, and enterprise engineering standards. Build a culture centered on safety, compliance, operational excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
The Senior Manager Work Order Administration CMMS Process Owner reports to the Director of the Amgen North Carolina Facilities & Engineering group.
- Lead and develop a multi-functional engineering operations organization responsible for work order administration, CMMS governance, maintenance planning and scheduling, reliability engineering, central inventory management, and KPI reporting.
- Lead the Central Inventory (equipment spare parts) program working closely with the Internal Service Provider as it relates to the overall MRO process supporting the site.
- Lead the site reliability program, aligning on the network approach for the Amgen North Carolina reliability roadmap, implementing initiatives and own engineering KPIs and business reporting on program and site equipment health.
- Establish long-range maintenance and asset reliability strategies aligned with site operational goals, regulatory compliance requirements, and enterprise engineering standards.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, recommend solutions, and manage implementation of initiatives to improve planning and scheduling accuracy and adherence and overall asset management program.
- Collaborate with key customers and support groups regarding preventative maintenance activities and on time completion as well as manage aging work order backlog.
- Collaborate with corporate network groups to improve planning and scheduling performance in addition to improving programs within CMMS, Central Inventory, and Reliability to meet business needs.
- Provide direct supervision and oversight of work order safety programs and planning procedures.
- Experience working in a regulated environment (e.g. cGMP, OSHA, EPA, etc.), experience interacting with regulatory agencies and inspectors, and familiarity with GMP quality systems/processes such as change control, non-conformances, corrective and preventative actions, and qualifications/validation
- Strong leadership, technical writing, and communication/presentation skills.
- Work schedule flexibility as required to support 24/7 operations, requiring occasional after-hours engineering coverage

Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma / GED and 12 years of engineering, maintenance, reliability, or CMMS experience OR
- Associate’s degree and 10 years of engineering, maintenance, reliability, or CMMS experience OR
- Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of engineering, maintenance, reliability, or CMMS experience OR
- Master’s degree and 6 years of engineering, maintenance, reliability, or CMMS experience OR
- Doctorate degree and 2 years of engineering, maintenance, reliability, or CMMS experience
In addition to meeting at least one of the above requirements, you must have a minimum of 2 years experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation or resources. Your managerial experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced above
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field
- 8+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other highly regulated manufacturing industries
- 5+ years of leadership experience in maintenance, reliability engineering, facilities engineering, or asset management
- Demonstrated expertise with CMMS platforms such as SAP PM, Maximo, or equivalent systems
- Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience utilizing a computerized maintenance management system.
- Strong understanding of reliability engineering principles and asset lifecycle management
- Experience leading MRO inventory and spare parts optimization programs
- Knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies and Industry 4.0 systems
- Experience managing integrated service providers and contractor organizations
- Proven ability to lead continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives
- Strong financial acumen including budget management, forecasting, and cost optimization
- Experience with KPI development, data analytics, and business intelligence reporting tools
- Demonstrated ability to influence across functions and communicate effectively with senior leadership
- Strong understanding of cGMP regulations, EHS requirements, and data integrity expectations
- Ability to work within Microsoft Excel and Brio or other Data query software
- Proven troubleshooting, problem solving and investigational skills.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and facilitation skills and ability to work in a collaborative team-based environment.
- Ability to work with minimum direction.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and effectively set priorities.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
