Specialist Business Analyst (Data, Analytics & Digital Automation)
Ireland - Dun Laoghaire Apply NowWhat You Will Do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world.
At Amgen Ireland, we are transforming our manufacturing operations through Data & Analytics, Digital Automation, and emerging AI capabilities. We are looking for a hands-on, delivery-focused analyst to support the design, development, and deployment of digital solutions that directly impact manufacturing performance.
You will work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and IS teams to translate business needs into structured requirements, support solution delivery, and ensure systems and analytics solutions are effectively implemented in a regulated environment.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of business and technology, bringing structure to ambiguity and driving execution in fast-paced operational settings.
Work Model
At Amgen, we support flexible work arrangements that enable high performance and personal well-being.
This role operates within a hybrid model; however, due to the nature of manufacturing operations, regular on-site presence at our Dun Laoghaire facility is required to effectively collaborate with stakeholders and support solution delivery.
Who You Are
You are a pragmatic and detail-oriented analyst who enjoys solving real-world operational problems. You are comfortable working directly with business stakeholders, understanding their needs, and translating them into clear, actionable requirements.
You take ownership of delivery and follow-through, ensuring that solutions are not only built but also validated, compliant, and adopted. You are curious about new technologies such as AI and automation, and eager to apply them in practical, value-driven ways.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to capture demand, clarify requirements, and structure use cases for digital, analytics, and automation initiatives.
- Create and manage user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlogs, ensuring alignment with business priorities and Agile delivery practices.
- Support solution delivery lifecycle, including testing, validation, and release coordination in line with SDLC and GxP requirements.
- Collaborate with developers, data engineers, and data scientists to ensure requirements are clearly understood and implemented.
- Support validation activities, documentation, and compliance processes required for regulated systems.
- Contribute to digital automation and AI use cases, including hands-on support using tools such as ChatGPT, scripting, or low-code/no-code platforms where appropriate.
- Assist in process mapping, data analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing performance.
What We Expect of You
Required Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline, with 5+ years of experience in Information Systems, Digital, or Data & Analytics roles.
- Strong experience in business analysis, requirements gathering, and process mapping.
- Experience working in Agile environments, including user story creation, backlog management, and sprint support.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and experience supporting testing and validation activities.
- Experience working in regulated environments (GxP, data integrity, validation) or strong willingness to learn.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to structure problems and work with data.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or manufacturing environments.
- Exposure to data analytics, visualization tools, or SQL/Python.
