What you will do

In this vital role you will provide strategic, brand-agnostic leadership to strengthen Amgen’s global value optimization capabilities amid increasing pricing, access, and reimbursement interdependencies. Reporting to the Executive Director, GV&A Strategic Projects Lead, you will shape global pricing and value strategies, support senior leadership decision-making, and proactively manage pricing and ASP erosion risks by partnering closely with regional, country, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and lead global value optimization strategy across the portfolio, balancing price, volume, profitability, supply, and reference price impact.
  • Advise senior GVA, commercial, and enterprise leaders with robust analyses, scenarios, and recommendations on global pricing and ASP dynamics.
  • Redesign and embed fit-for-purpose global price governance frameworks, ensuring consistent, compliant application across priority markets and brands.
  • Establish pricing and access guiding principles for pipeline assets and launches to inform long-range planning and launch readiness.
  • Provide strategic direction on analytics, insights, and reporting to enable high-quality pricing and value decisions.
  • Deliver brand-agnostic oversight of priority markets, supporting complex, multi-product pricing and access business cases.
  • Proactively identify, escalate, and mitigate pricing, ASP erosion, and cross-market spillover risks, including rock-bottom price assessments.
  • Strengthen negotiation readiness through structured strategies, sequencing, and fallback positions for key pricing and reimbursement discussions.
  • Monitor global payer, policy, regulatory, and HTA developments and translate insights into actionable guidance.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment and capability building across Global Value & Access, Pricing, Finance, Policy, and regional teams, contributing to enterprise planning and forecasting processes.

  • Degree educated.
  • Previous pharmaceutical market access or pricing experience, with deep expertise in ex-U.S. environments and international pricing dynamics.
  • Hands-on country and/or regional experience leading pricing, reimbursement, and payer negotiations.
  • Strong knowledge of international reference pricing, cross-market interdependencies, and global value impact.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen, including gross-to-net, ASP erosion, and P&L implications of pricing decisions.
  • Strategic, hands-on leader able to translate complex analytics into clear, actionable recommendations and scenario-based plans.
  • Proven track record leading complex, cross-functional initiatives, redesigning enterprise processes, and driving outcomes in a global matrix.
  • Exceptional structuring, organizational, communication, and influencing skills, with the credibility to challenge and align senior stakeholders.
