Scientist - Experimental Immunology

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. Amgen’s Immunoengineering organization is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and collaborative Scientist to join the Experimental Immunology Team at our Amgen British Columbia site.

This is a wet-lab focused position that involves the design, execution, and technical support of immunology-focused research platforms. The ideal candidate will have a deep foundational understanding of immunology with and a strong technical background. This position will involve the development and execution of novel experimental platforms, assay development, primary cell culture, and the utilization of techniques and technologies including: conventional/spectral cytometry, FACS, ELISAs/ELISpots, Imaging and various molecular biology tools. Well-suited applicants will have broad laboratory training, deep scientific curiosity, and a positive approach to working in a team-based research environment. This individual will also have a track record of high-quality research, creative problem-solving and enthusiasm for tackling difficult research challenges.

Basic Qualifications:

PhD in a related discipline with 1-2 years of experience

MSc with 3-4 years of experience.

BSc with 5+ years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of immunology with strong technical skill set

  • Extensive wet-lab experience including previous experience with immune response modeling and immunophenotyping.

  • Experience performing standard immunology assays including ELISA, ELISpots and flow cytometry.

  • Experience with FACS

  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

  • Desire to be a team player in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.

  • Demonstrated scientific analysis and problem-solving skills.

The salary for this position in Canada is $109,255 - $147,815
