The Team

  • Part of Amgen’s Global Contracts and Pricing Operations (Global CPO) organization within the Global Operational Pricing team
  • Located across Breda (Netherlands) and Lisbon (Portugal)

  • Focused on enabling accurate, compliant, and efficient ex-US contract and pricing execution to support Amgen’s mission of serving patients

The Role

  • The Senior Associate Contracts & Pricing supports the operational execution, governance, and continuous improvement of pricing and contracting processes across ex-US markets.
  • As a key operational partner to affiliates and internal stakeholders, the role provides guidance and support on Contracts and Pricing processes while collaborating with Global CPO, regional teams, and cross-functional partners.
  • The position contributes to operational excellence, process optimization, and business initiatives that enhance consistency, compliance, efficiency, and scalability across Contracts and Pricing operations.

Accountabilities

  • Serve as a key operational partner to affiliates and internal stakeholders, providing timely support and guidance on Contracts and Pricing processes across assigned ex-US markets.
  • Ensure affiliate requests and inquiries related to Contracts and Pricing are managed in line with established service level targets and business expectations.
  • Support operational excellence initiatives that enhance the effectiveness, consistency, and scalability of Contracts and Pricing operations across ex-US markets.
  • Contribute to the governance and continuous improvement of Contracts and Pricing processes, policies, and ways of working.
  • Partner with stakeholders across Global CPO, regional teams, and other business functions to drive alignment, consistency, and operational effectiveness.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects, business initiatives, and system enhancements, representing the Global CPO organization and providing Contracts and Pricing expertise.
  • Provide business insights, process expertise, and analytical support to inform decision-making and support operational and strategic objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and support the implementation of improvements that enhance efficiency, compliance, and user experience.
  • Support training, knowledge management, and best-practice sharing activities to enable effective adoption of Contracts and Pricing processes and systems.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and customer-focused service across the Contracts and Pricing organization.

Responsibilities

1) Affiliate & Contracts and Pricing Support

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for affiliates and internal stakeholders, providing guidance and support on Contracts and Pricing processes across assigned ex-US markets.
  • Ensure affiliate inquiries, requests, and operational issues are managed effectively and in line with established service level targets.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support successful Contracts and Pricing operations.

2) Governance & Business Process Management

  • Support the governance and continuous improvement of Contracts and Pricing business processes, policies, and ways of working across ex-US markets.
  • Partner with Global CPO, regional teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive process consistency, operational effectiveness, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Provide business process expertise, business requirements and operational impact assessments to support system enhancements and process changes.
  • Develop business requirements, process documentation, standard operating procedures, and other supporting materials to facilitate process standardization and knowledge transfer.

3) Project Support & Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to global, regional, and cross-functional projects by representing Contracts and Pricing business requirements and stakeholder needs.
  • Analyse business processes, identify improvement opportunities, and support the implementation of solutions that enhance efficiency, compliance, scalability, and user experience.
  • Support change management activities related to new processes, tools, systems, and organizational initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and supporting opportunities to optimize Contracts and Pricing operations.

4) Business Analysis & Decision Support

  • Interpret operational and business data to provide insights and recommendations supporting strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Assess business challenges, risks, and opportunities and provide recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Support initiatives that enhance operational performance, process effectiveness, and business outcomes.

5) Training & Knowledge Management

  • Create, maintain, and continuously improve training materials, Quick Reference Guides (QRGs), and other knowledge management resources.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and best-practice adoption across countries, functions, and teams.
  • Deliver system and process training to business users.

Essential Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree + 2 years of experience OR Associate’s degree + 5 years of experience
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Contract and pricing operations
    • Finance
    • Business administration
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders across commercial, finance, supply chain, and operations functions.

Preferred Experience:

  • Fluency in English with strong written and verbal communication
  • Experience in pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology environments
  • Hands-on experience with SAP, Vistex, and/or Tableau
  • Strong Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Cultural awareness and ability to operate effectively in global environments
  • Ability to thrive in matrixed and international teams
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end business processes
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and balance competing demands
  • Experience participating in process improvement, operational excellence, or continuous improvement initiatives.
