At Amgen Breda, medicines are labeled, assembled, stored, and eventually shipped to various countries worldwide. Every day more than 1000 people from 38 different nationalities are working on supply chain processes, manufacturing, marketing, and sales of our medicines and clinical research into new medicines.

Join our dynamic Global Transportation Excellence team and be part of innovative projects aimed at enhancing our supply chain operations. This internship combines two key projects: the implementation of paperless invoices within the UPS Small Parcel network and the integration of the UPS Intelligent Analytics tool into daily operations.

Project 1: Paperless Invoices

The intern will conduct a research project focused on the implementation of paperless invoices within the UPS Small Parcel network. The project will involve analyzing current processes and IT systems, identifying requirements for implementation, and evaluating the potential benefits of invoice automation.

Project 2: Intelligent Analytics

The proposed project aims to enhance the parcel network by implementing the UPS Intelligent Analytics tool. Tasks will involve analyzing the current parcel network, identifying areas for improvement, and developing a plan to integrate Intelligent Analytics into daily operations within internal Amgen stakeholders. Additionally, the project will assess the adoption and integration of the new tool and measure its impact on key operational metrics.

Deliverables:

  • Comprehensive analysis of current processes and IT systems.
  • Detailed implementation plan for paperless invoices.
  • Evaluation report on the automation benefits.
  • Stakeholder analysis and engagement plan.
  • Detailed analysis of the current parcel network.
  • Plan for integrating Intelligent Analytics into daily operations.
  • Assessment of the adoption and integration of the new tool.
  • Measurement of the tool's impact on operational metrics.

What we expect of you

We are looking for students with passion and who are thrilled to help in our mission “to serve patients”. To be successful as an intern you need the following:

  • Be a pre-final year student (Bachelor), preferably in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, or Life Sciences.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Be proactive, organized, and able to work independently on tasks.
  • Have an analytical mindset, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Be familiar with process improvement principles and quality compliance standards.
  • (Preferred) Experience with data reporting tools (e.g., Smartsheet) and basic understanding of GMP/GDP.
