What you will do

As Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager, you will be a key technical expert within the site EHS team (5 employees). Reporting to the EHS Associate Director (ABR EHS Lead), you will provide specialist EHS expertise, own defined EHS programs end-to-end, and support safe, compliant, and efficient operations at Amgen Breda.

This is a senior individual contributor role: you will not manage a team, but you will influence decisions, support complex projects, and partner closely with operations, engineering, quality, and corporate EHS. In this role, you will work across a broad range of EHS topics.

Combining regulatory expertise, risk management, and hands-on operational support, allowing you to further develop into a well-rounded EHS professional.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for assigned EHS disciplines, ensuring compliance with Dutch & EU legislation, Amgen standards, and industry best practices.
  • Own and implement assigned EHS programs.
  • Support and continuously improve the site EHS Management System (procedures, standards, qualifications).
  • Provide EHS input to risk assessments, change management activities, and project reviews.
  • Support incident investigations, non-conformances, and root cause analysis, driving effective corrective actions.
  • Contribute to EHS audits, inspections, and monitoring, including follow-up of actions.
  • Provide technical support for emergency preparedness and operational EHS activities.
  • Coach, train, and engage employees and contractors, collaborating closely with site functions and Corporate EHS.
