Value & Access Manager – General Medicine (Bogotá)

What you will do

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Strategic Leadership in Value & Access

  • Design and implement access strategies aligned with business priorities and brand objectives.
  • Develop value propositions supported by clinical, epidemiological, health economic, and outcomes evidence.
  • Design innovative solutions that optimize care models, patient pathways, and contracting approaches, contributing to greater healthcare system efficiency and improved patient access.
  • Incorporate principles of Pharmacoeconomics, health technology assessment (HTA), health economics, and evidence generation into strategic decision-making.
  • Lead initiatives that strengthen access sustainability and portfolio differentiation across diverse payer segments.

Strategic Account Management (Key Account Management)

  • Lead strategic relationships with health insurers and other key stakeholders within the healthcare system under his/her responsibility.
  • Design, implement, and monitor account plans, ensuring access strategies are aligned with brand objectives and business priorities.
  • Continuously monitor account performance through access and business metrics, assessing the impact of implemented tactics and making timely adjustments to maximize results.
  • Analyze market, access, sales, and account performance data to identify growth opportunities, anticipate risks, and prioritize resources.
  • Lead cross-functional teams (Marketing, Medical Affairs, Commercial, Government Affairs, Pricing, Supply Chain, and other functions) to ensure coordinated and consistent execution of account plans.
  • Identify access barriers and develop collaborative solutions to accelerate patient access and improve the performance of assigned accounts.
  • Ensure disciplined execution of account plans by fostering a culture of performance tracking, outcome measurement, and continuous improvement.

Evidence Generation and Environmental Understanding

  • Apply expertise in epidemiology, disease burden, health economics, and Pharmacoeconomics to develop differentiated value propositions for portfolio therapies.
  • Generate clinical, technical, and economic evidence-based arguments to support payer access, contracting, and reimbursement decisions.
  • Continuously monitor the regulatory, political, and healthcare environment in Colombia to anticipate changes that may impact patient access, funding, or business performance.
  • Identify opportunities arising from healthcare reforms, public policy developments, regulatory changes, and healthcare system transformations, incorporating them into access strategies as appropriate.
  • Contribute to the development of pricing, access, and evidence-generation strategies that strengthen the portfolio’s competitive positioning.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead, develop, and inspire the General Medicine Access team, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, innovation, and results orientation.
  • Build the team’s technical and strategic capabilities in market access, account management, negotiation, and value creation.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration across the organization to ensure integrated execution of business and access strategies.
  • Serve as a strategic and technical advisor to the team, facilitating effective decision-making and talent development.

Field Execution and Team Support

  • Maintain an active field presence, dedicating approximately 20% of working time to visits with payers, healthcare institutions, and other relevant healthcare stakeholders.
  • Conduct joint field engagements with Access and Commercial teams to understand account needs, support strategic negotiations, and accelerate the implementation of access initiatives.
  • Provide strategic guidance to field teams and Brand Teams in the execution of account plans, helping address access barriers and identify new growth opportunities.
  • Ensure that field insights continuously inform and refine access strategies, enabling ongoing optimization of execution and outcomes.

What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in in Health Economics, Pharmacoeconomics, Epidemiology, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or a related function within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry Or
  • Bachelor’s degree in in Health Sciences, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related function within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry
  • Advanced proficiency in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong experience in Market Access, Value & Access, or related functions within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven experience managing strategic relationships with health insurers and key accounts within the Colombian healthcare system.
  • Demonstrated experience leading access strategies and working effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience negotiating with payers and designing and implementing access models.
  • Proven track record of leading high-performing teams.
  • Colombian General Social Security Health System (SGSSS).
  • Healthcare delivery and contracting models.
  • Payer, insurer, and healthcare stakeholder management.
  • Pharmacoeconomics, health economics, and Health Technology Assessment (HTA).
  • Epidemiology and disease burden analysis.
  • Public policy, healthcare regulation, and the Colombian healthcare environment.
  • Strategic planning, key account management, and business performance monitoring.
  • Project management and leadership of cross-functional teams.
