FINANCE MANAGER – STATUTORY ACCOUNTING & TAX

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be responsible for local statutory accounting, tax compliance, and period-end close activities. This country-dedicated role ensures financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and alignment with Amgen policies, working closely with local stakeholders, Global/HUB Finance teams, external service providers, and leading one direct report.

  • Own local statutory accounting and tax deliverables, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Review tax calculations and approve tax payments prepared by external providers.
  • Reconcile tax reports to the General Ledger and monitor recoverable/refund positions.
  • Oversee payroll accounting in coordination with HR.
  • Support internal control certification (IICC) and local control requirements.
  • Prepare and/or review statutory financial statements per local GAAP and Amgen policies.
  • Support month-end close, reconciliations, statutory audits, and key stakeholder interactions
  • Support cash flow, intercompany activities, accruals, and ad-hoc finance projects

We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The Finance Manager Statutory Accounting & Tax professional we seek is a is an individual contributor with these qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

OR

Master’s degree and 2 years of accounting/finance with statutory and tax exposure experience

OR

Bachelor’s degree and 4 years accounting/finance with statutory and tax exposure experience

OR

Associate’s degree and 8 years of accounting/finance with statutory and tax exposure experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 10 years of accounting/finance with statutory and tax exposure experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in accounting/finance with statutory and tax exposure
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional accounting certification (CPA/CA or equivalent).
  • Experience in a multinational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of local GAAP and US GAAP
  • Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office (advanced Excel).
  • Fluency in English.
  • Direct people management responsibility, including coaching, development, and performance management.
  • Strong ownership, ability to work independently, and accountability for local deliverables.
  • Clear and effective communication skills to explain complex topics to finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Strong collaboration skills across local, regional, and global teams.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and pressure during close and audit cycles.
