Our ESG Council receives regular updates on our environmental performance and emerging risks, which helps track progress and adjust plans as needed to meet our 2027 environmental sustainability goals. These targets include, but are not limited to:

  • Reducing water consumption by 40%.
  • Achieving carbon neutrality for Amgen-owned and operated facilities and operations.
  • Reducing waste disposed by 75%.
  • Integrating environmental sustainability principles throughout the life cycles of our products with green packaging, green chemistry, and responsible product disposal.

Thanks to recent tech advancements, we’ve created more streamlined, efficient methods to manufacture and package medicines that also significantly reduce our facility footprint. This transition to more sustainable manufacturing, dubbed Amgen Ecovation™, paves the way to designing, developing, and building more laboratory, manufacturing, and administrative buildings while mitigating our overall environmental impact.
