Present in Italy since 1992, Amgen is now well established with almost 300 employees.
In 2016, Amgen was included in the “top ten” of the Best Workplaces in Italy. The Company earned the eighth place in the ranking by the Great Place to Work Institute in the category of medium-sized enterprises, being the first among the pharmaceutical industry.
The Company operates in different therapeutic areas such as oncology, immunology, nephrology, haematology, cardiology osteoporosis and investing a substantial part of the turnover in clinical trials through the strategic partnership with the Italian excellence. At the moment there are about 41 ongoing studies involving 283 centers for a total of 1,109 patients throughout the peninsula.
Thanks to the work of this Foundation, Amgen is committed to encouraging the development of a solid scientific culture. The Foundation has provided more than $ 100 million worldwide supporting non-governmental organizations. Several programs are active in our country. These include Amgen Teach, aimed to train science teachers, and Amgen Scholars dedicated to university students. Moreover, thanks to donations at national level, the Foundation funds local associations dedicated to projects in line with the scientific literacy values and innovation.
