As part of the Digital Medicine Team, you will collaborate closely with partners and stakeholders to drive innovation and optimization across digital medicine capabilities, business processes, systems, and data analytics initiatives. Your contributions will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of digital medicine at Amgen. Key responsibilities include:

  • Holistically review, develop, and enhance digital medicine capabilities and business processes, finding opportunities for increased efficiency and embedding continuous improvement practices.
  • Engage with digital medicine experts and external partners to gather insights that refine processes and drive innovation within the digital medicine landscape.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor strategies to uncover opportunities for enhancing Amgen's digital medicine presence and leadership.
  • Evaluate the usability and effectiveness of existing digital tools and platforms used by medical, safety, and regulatory functions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Conduct user surveys and analyze feedback to identify gaps and areas for improvement in current digital systems and workflows.
  • Propose and recommend enhancements or innovative tools to improve scientific content development and engagement with healthcare providers and other stakeholders.
  • Research and analyze emerging digital strategies and technologies employed by competitors in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries, identifying innovative practices worth adopting.
  • Present findings and actionable recommendations to the Digital Medicine Team, enabling informed decision-making and prioritization.
  • Document and streamline current processes, with a focus on simplifying metrics collection and integration to enable data-driven insights and decision-making.
  • Develop guidelines and frameworks for optimizing social media engagement and incorporating analytics into comprehensive digital medicine dashboards.

Basic Qualifications

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for an undergrad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:

  • 18 years or older
  • Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
  • Completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing
  • Enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s degree program following the potential internship or co-op assignment with an accredited college or university
  • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
  • Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship OR co-op

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree concentration(s) in Engineering, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Computer Science, Business Administration & Information technologies
  • Experience with Generative AI, as well as other AI and machine learning tools, is highly beneficial.
  • Strong analytical skills to extract valuable insights from digital interactions and a strong understanding of complex data
  • Ability to develop insightful dashboards for tracking digital engagement metrics, helping to make data-driven decisions
  • Familiarity with various digital tools used in medical, with a passion for assessing their effectiveness and usability
  • Skilled in conducting user surveys and feedback analysis to identify areas for improvement in digital tools and platforms
  • Ability to propose enhancements and new tools for improved engagement with healthcare providers
  • Capable of providing valuable recommendations for optimizing digital strategies based on data-driven insights
  • Research skills to delve into competitors' digital strategies in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry
  • Capability to identify innovative practices and technologies that could benefit Amgen's digital approach
  • Strong presentation and communication abilities to articulate findings and recommendations to the team
  • Experience in managing and monitoring social media platforms and knowledge of online community engagement
  • Skills to detail and streamline processes for metrics collection and monitoring
  • Ability to develop effective strategies for using social media platforms and integrating metrics into medical dashboards

The base pay range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $24.70 - $28.30 per hour.
