Senior Associate, Global Functions Compliance
What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will participate in performing tasks associated with business processes to Amgen’s interactions with Healthcare Professionals, Healthcare Organizations, Patient Organizations and Educational Providers. This individual will provide proactive guidance on potential engagements and transactions with Members of the Healthcare Community, in line with healthcare laws, pharma association codes, and all applicable Amgen’s Healthcare Compliance Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Develop and maintain working knowledge of Amgen’s Healthcare Compliance Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Develop and maintain working knowledge and understanding all applicable healthcare laws and pharma association codes regulating interactions with the members of the healthcare community (e.g., Fraud & Abuse Statute, Federal Healthcare Program Requirements, PhRMA Code).
- Apply knowledge of the above internal and external requirements when evaluating Amgen activities that involve Transfers of Value (ToV) and Transfers of Information (ToI) to Healthcare Professionals, Healthcare Organizations, Patient Organizations and Educational Providers (e.g., fee for service, sponsorships, donations).
- Apply analytical skills to nuanced requests from global functions to support the provision of compliance advice that sets our employees up for executional success.
- Analyze trends in spend at the functional level to support the provision of compliance advice on specific requests emanating from Amgen’s Global Functions.
- Access C3 requests to gather information required to make assessments on compliant execution of engagements with members of the healthcare community.
- Perform compliance training and awareness activities based upon results of specific activities and outcomes of evolving risk assessments.
- Evaluate inbound exception requests and identify the appropriateness of proceeding with a risk mitigation plan, triage and where appropriate, escalate within the WC&BE leadership team.
- Contribute to the completion of milestones associated with key functional projects and activities proposed by cross-functional business partners across all Global Functions.
- Establish working relationships and credibility through the provision of professional communications and strategic compliance advice with internal Amgen staff.

Basic Qualifications:
Master’s degree
Or
Bachelor's degree and 2 years of Compliance, Audit, Operations, Business, or IT experience
Or
Associate's degree and 6 years of Compliance, Audit, Operations, Business, or IT experience
Or
High school diploma and 8 years of Compliance, Audit, Operations, Business, or IT experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Solid knowledge of related regulatory / industry considerations, compliance issues, US healthcare laws and regulations.
- Ability to transition / train processes and regulatory requirements to impacted business functions.
- Excellent written and verbal English communications skills.
- Attention to detail, analytical approach, process-oriented thinking, and elevated improvement focused attitude.
- Ability to apply research, information gathering, analytical and interpretation skills to problems of diverse scope.
- Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, follow through on assignments, to set project timeframes and priorities based on project objectives and ongoing assignments.
- Ability to independently understand, follow and implement instructions. Provide clear instructions to business functions or system support teams. Develops solutions to technical problems of moderate complexity.
- Capable of effectively integrating into an impactful team.
- Contributes to team by ensuring the quality of the tasks / services provided by self and the completion of achievements associated with specific projects or activities within own department or workgroup.
- Applies knowledge and understanding of customer needs and other internal / external contacts.
- Establishes working relationships with others outside area of expertise.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
