Manager, Brand, ESG and Foundation Communications

What you will do

In this vital role you will partner on the development and global execution of strategic communications to advance the Amgen Corporate Brand, further the mission of the Amgen Foundation, and amplify the company’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) priorities. The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally to help enhance reputation, drive key audience engagement and create measurable results. This role will be pivotal in amplifying the company’s impact across Foundation and ESG priorities while helping ensure strong and consistent presence of the corporate brand across all efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Execution

  • Partner on development and execution of integrated communications plans for the Amgen Foundation and ESG initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and corporate brand.
  • Collaborate across Corporate Affairs and other departments to promote Foundation and ESG priorities internally and externally.
  • Enhance effectiveness of key brand initiatives, acting as a go-to resource on Amgen’s Corporate Brand.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and communications standard processes to identify innovative opportunities.

Campaign Development and Storytelling

  • Support campaign development, including organic and paid opportunities.
  • Support the creation of compelling content, including articles, press releases, reports, social media posts, and web copy, to promote the Foundation’s initiatives and Amgen’s ESG efforts.
  • Partner on the production of Amgen’s ESG reports and other key publications, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with corporate branding.
  • Highlight the stories of Amgen’s impact in communities through engaging and data-driven storytelling that drive progress on Corporate Affairs priorities.

Engagement and Partnerships

  • Serve as a communications partner to the Amgen Foundation, supporting relationships with nonprofit organizations, advocacy groups, and other key partners.
  • Engage internal teams, including employees and leadership, to ensure alignment on messaging and priorities.
  • Build relationships with media and influencers to promote Amgen’s ESG and philanthropic activities.

Metrics and Reporting

  • Measure the effectiveness of all efforts through established KPIs and metrics.
  • Ensure timely and accurate maintenance of corporate brand materials via company brand center.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership, offering data-driven insights and recommendations to enhance strategy.

What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

Or

Master’s degree and 2 years of corporate communications, philanthropy communications, ESG communications, or related experience

Or

Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of corporate communications, philanthropy communications, ESG communications, or related experience

Or

Associate’s degree and 8 years of corporate communications, philanthropy communications, ESG communications, or related experience

Or

High school diploma / GED and 10 years of corporate communications, philanthropy communications, ESG communications, or related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Environmental Studies, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in corporate communications, philanthropy communications, ESG communications, or related areas.
  • Experience in developing communications for nonprofits, ESG programs, or corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with an ability to articulate complex topics in an engaging and accessible way.
  • Knowledge of ESG frameworks, trends, and reporting standards.
  • Proactive, meticulous, with ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with strong interpersonal, team and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams and with external partners.
  • Strategic, creative problem solver with a strong ability to represent communications standard processes.
  • Proficiency with communication platforms, including social media and digital tools.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
