External Supply (ES) is seeking a highly motivated individual who, under minimal direction, will execute as a team member of the ES Performance, Strategy & Execution Business Operations team. This role will provide financial and procurement business process and training compliance support for the site (includes Raw Material, Device, Amgen Contract Development & Manufacturing, Performance, Strategy & Execution, organizations) within Operations. In addition, this role will support, and at times lead, project management activities for cross-functional initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years’ direct experience in Financial and business process management to include 4+ years’ experience in reporting, consolidation, and financial analysis, and 4+ years of direct experience in project management key support roles.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate collection, review, and investigation of financial data from ES teams in support of financial reporting cycles for consolidated hand off to Finance

  • Creation and maintenance of electronic visual management (EVM) dashboards related to key Forecast, Budget, and Financial Close activities

  • Extensive analytical analysis applying advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, pivots, sumIF, named ranges and nested tables, etc.), advanced Smartsheet and other reporting and data analysis tools (Tableau, SAP and related SAP reporting applications)

  • Technical ability to create tools and build capabilities that support continuous process improvements that free up resources and allow senior leadership to make decisions in real-time

  • Perform analysis of business process effectiveness and recommend corresponding improvement activities including but not limited to, the review, revision and publishing of process document content applying Amgen’s controlled documentation system

  • Organize information from numerous sources to provide well-constructed deliverables

  • Support training and system access assignments for all new ES staff to ensure compliance with roles and management of Training Assignment Portfolio (TAP)

  • Ad hoc support for management requests

What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree OR

  • Master’s degree and 2 years of operations and/or manufacturing experience OR

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of operations and/or manufacturing experience OR

  • Associate’s degree and 8 years of operations and/or manufacturing experience OR

  • High school diploma / GED and 10 years of operations and/or manufacturing experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong demonstrated experience/understanding of end-to-end processes that impact financial reporting

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking, pattern recognition, and problem-solving capabilities

  • Demonstrated experience handling large data sets and supporting initiatives for data integrity

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including ability to present meaningful data to executive leadership and top decision makers in a quick and concise manner

  • Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team and under pressure, with a sense of urgency, to meet deadlines

  • Keen attention to detail and the skills for problem-solving and able to proactively address potential issues

  • Able to thrive in a high-volume, fast paced work environment

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (emphasis on Excel and Word) required

  • Experience working in Smartsheet, SAP and Tableau preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution

  • Experience in biotech/pharma operations/manufacturing/process development a plus

  • 4+ years of direct experience in financial processes

  • 4+ years direct Project Management experience

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
