Senior Manager of Observational Research

The Senior Manager of Observational Research at Amgen’s Center for Observational Research will lead our scientific efforts and enhance organizational capabilities in utilizing real-world evidence to support drug development, regulatory decisions, and improve patient outcomes in Japan.

The role is responsible for:

a)  Leading research to advance development of investigational molecules

• Design and conduct the studies that further understanding of disease natural history, facilitate the design of clinical trials, and evaluate safety and effectiveness of medicines
• Demonstrate technical ability and creative thought for addressing methodological challenges
• Conduct research to highest standards of the profession

b)  Advancing Amgen’s core capabilities to conduct observational research

• Collaborate with Amgen’s global network of epidemiologists and the academic community
• Leverage and build upon available data resources and analytical capabilities

c)  Engaging with key stakeholders

• Coach and facilitate awareness for the appropriate use of observational research
• Communicate scientific information to a variety of internal audiences, health authorities, and the scientific community

Qualifications:

• PhD in epidemiology or a similar discipline, or an MD accompanied by a master’s degree in a field involving observational research
• Record of publications in observational research
• Strong English verbal and written communication skills
• Three of more years of professional experience in Japan
