Global Program Management Director
What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will drive and develop global strategic plans for programs within Amgen’s commercialization process. The Global Program Management Director partners with the Product Delivery Teams (PDTs) and workstreams to ensure aligned timelines and interdependencies are accounted for in the overall program and plan. This will drive the creation and effective, consistent completion of high-quality, cross-functional, global strategic plans for Amgen’s products. The Global Program Manager Director is a global role within the Operations Organization which has internal, external and regional interactions
- Owns all Gantts and interdependencies for program
- Supports the development and execution of global program strategy in partnership with the PDTs and cross-functional partners
- Develops and drives agenda for PDTs based on key topics and upcoming milestones: arrange for presenters, facilitate meetings, document output, etc.
- Develops and implements project plans and timelines, risk management and communication plans
- Leads cross-functional resource, financial and capacity assessments
- Ensure effective partnerships/alliances through driving delivery of Amgen’s obligations aligned to plan
- Manages and coaches PM staff, with connectivity outside of Operations to ensure aligned plans
- Leads workshop planning and delivery
- Drives and contributes to the development and execution of high-quality, cross-functional, Global Product Strategies (GPS)
- Leads development and management of the Integrated Project Plan as the single source of project and program information
- Ability to lead, influence and manage cross-functional programs from concept to completion
- Actively contributes to the development of content for governance meetings
- Escalates program and Product Team issues and risks as appropriate
- Use executive writing, presentation skills, interpersonal, and influencing skills to drive rapid decisions
- Work in Planisware, MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, SmartSheets, and MS Teams

Basic Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree and 4 years of Project Management experience
Or
- Master’s degree and 8 years of Project Management experience
Or
- Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of Project Management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ years’ experience within the Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, or other Healthcare related field, with advanced understanding of key functions; including, but not limited to, Research, Pre-Clinical, Clinical, Manufacturing, Commercial, Regulatory, and Medical Affairs
- Global experience within all phases of drug development
- Demonstrated ability in managing and/or leading cross-functional drug development teams
- Experience managing people with the ability to coach, motivate, and communicate vision/mission, and provide career path and technical advice to SPMs and PMs and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation or resources
- PMP certification and or highly advanced project management skills (Project Management principles, tools and practices)
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, negotiating skills and relationship management skills and ability to influence behaviors and outcomes in the absence of direct authority.
- High degree of creativity and foresight in anticipating and solving complex program issues
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to clearly and effectively present cross-functionally and at all levels, including Senior and Executive Management information formally and informally

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
