What you will do
The US Field Excellence team provides guidance and support to the sales organization by optimizing the field experience through Field Effectiveness, Incentive Compensation, Field Operations, and Field Systems and Capabilities Transformation.

In this vital role you the Director, Field Effectiveness will have responsibility for leading a team instrumental in driving commercial success by enabling, advising, and supporting the sales force to achieve performance effectiveness through driving insights, excellence, and efficiency.
Flexible Commuter role to Thousand Oaks, CA office. You will work on-site 2 to 3 days a week.
This position reports to the Executive Director, US Field Excellence and will be responsible for the following:
- Accountable for program management and oversight of functional plan and execution of all field effectiveness programs and initiatives
- Develop department’s organizational design, roles and responsibilities, and goals and objectives to deliver outstanding Field Effectiveness capabilities
- Lead/ co-lead special initiatives and projects (e.g. sales force size & structure, launch readiness
- Proactively monitor field performance and execution; identify issues/ opportunities and recommend solutions
- Facilitate coordinating execution and pull-through of field force projects – customer targeting, field reporting, field alerts / suggestions, omnichannel / digital, field transformation, etc.
- Manage and develop a team, and providing them with guidance, coaching, and training
- Collaborate with the broader CD&A (Commercial Data & Analytics) organization to ensure alignment and support to deliver timely and accurate field effectiveness processes and deliverables
- Monitor industry trends and marketplace to stay ahead of competition, enhancing and evolving capabilities to adapt to changing business needs
The Field Effectiveness team focuses on opportunities such as:
- Proactively monitor business performance and execution; identify issues/opportunities and recommend solutions/course correction tactics as needed
- Optimizing the field insight process, ensuring efficient and high-quality reporting
- Lead cross-functionally to drive improvements in field force effectiveness, including digital tools
- Provide guidance and expertise to cross-functional teams on field force activities, from prior experience and based on current industry trends and advancement
- Serve as liaison to the operational delivery teams for escalation of support needs, new projects, or new process recommendations to ensure field satisfaction
- Lead or co-lead special initiatives and projects to drive key business results (through strong project planning and management)

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 4 years of sales analytics and/or field effectiveness experience (field leadership experience is a plus)
OR
Master’s degree and 8 years of sales analytics and/or field effectiveness experience (field leadership experience is a plus)
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of sales analytics and/or field effectiveness experience (field leadership experience is a plus)
In addition to meeting at least one of the above requirements, you must have at least 4 years experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation or resources. Your managerial experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced above

- Strategic Thinking:Ability to think creativity and with innovation in order to drive influence with sale leadership
- Critical Thinking:Strong analytical skills to diagnose business issues and incorporate into development or adjustment of strategies, plans and tactics to achieve business objectives
- Project Management: Ability to lead cross-functional teams to identify, prioritize, and implement improvements to field operations processes
- Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for initiatives
- Communication: Ability to clearly communicate the vision, goals, and progress of initiatives to stakeholders at all levels of the organization

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
