The Manager of Observational Research within Amgen’s Center for Observational Research will guide the observational research to support drug development and regulatory decision-making. The role will serve as a strong partner within China R&D teams, Amgen’s global network of epidemiologists, and the external research community.
The location of the role is open within the Amgen offices in Beijing or Shanghai.
The role is responsible for:
1) Leading observational research studies contributing to the research and development of investigational molecules
- Design and conduct the observational studies that support development planning, inform the design of clinical studies, and optimize the conduct of clinical studies
- Plan and execute studies describing the natural history of disease and evaluating the real-world safety and effectiveness of medicines
- Conduct research to highest standards of the profession
2) Advancing Amgen’s core capabilities to conduct observational research within China
- Actively collaborate with the external academic community
- Leverage and build upon available data resources and analytical capabilities
- Lead observational research in compliance of local regulations
3) Engaging with key stakeholders in both local and global development teams
- Coach and facilitate awareness to the appropriate use and timing of observational research to answer research questions
- Communicate scientific information to a variety of internal audiences, health authorities, and the scientific community including manuscripts
Qualifications:
- PhD in epidemiology or subject with observational research content; or medical degree with education or experience in observational research
- Record of publications in epidemiology / pharmacoepidemiology
