Contracts and Pricing Manager

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be accountable for:

  • Analyzing, financial modelling and supporting competitive pricing and contracting opportunities
  • Reviewing of draft contract agreement terms for accuracy and intent, involving collaboration with Legal
  • Forecasting and accruing for payments under contractual agreements with third party payers and key accounts. Clearly communicating accruals forecasting information to cross functional team, distilling complex financial information into simple and concise messaging
  • Validating rebate invoices to ensure consistency with contract agreement terms
  • Developing models to evaluate business cases and tracking the performance of contracts with payers and key accounts
  • Developing, producing and interpreting rebate tracking reports for accurate account/contract performance to support decision making in the VA&P team and meet global reporting commitments
  • Working closely with Finance and each business unit to integrate external data sources and accurately align local forecast assumptions with account level models of net sales and accruals associated with contractual obligations
  • Meet service level expectations for accuracy, timeliness, and clear communication
  • Key internal business partners will include the Contracts, Pricing, Private insurance & Pharmacy team, as well as cross-functional partners in Corporate Accounts, Provincial Government Affairs, Health Economics and Payer Planning (Value & Access), Business Units, Regional Accounting, Finance, Business Units, Information Systems and Legal.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS/MS degree preferred in finance, economics, mathematics, accounting, business administration
  • Strong business acuity, analytical and mathematical skills
  • Ability to develop in depth financial analysis comparing various scenarios
  • 2+ years of work experience in a highly analytical function
  • Highly detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and prioritize with emphasis on accuracy
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including advanced ability in Excel
  • Understanding of the biopharma industry and PMPRB compliance and reporting requirements and new product evaluation criteria
  • Numerical reasoning, critical thinking, problem solving and investigative skills
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal and presentational), ability to translate complex financial info into clear and concise communication.
  • Ideal candidate with have understanding of accounting fundamentals
  • Strong project management skills
  • Great teammate – work well with cross-functional team members to achieve common goals
