Corporate Affairs Manager
What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world! In this vital role you will be responsible for internal and external communications activities for Amgen Mfg Limited (AML) to support key business objectives, including communication planning, high-level project management and tactical execution. This individual will serve as the site communicator for Amgen’s flagship manufacturing site, located in Juncos, Puerto Rico.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Implement a strategic employee engagement plan to ensure that the approximately 2,000 staff members at the site are informed, aligned and engaged with the goals and mission of the company.
- Research, draft and edit materials in support of employee communication for organizational change initiatives, internal launch campaigns, and business unit/function internal programs
- Responsible for major internal/external calendar of events that drive staff communication activities.
- Maintain communications processes, standards and best practices within AML.
- Submit materials for review process and system to ensure compliance with company standards and regulations
- Effectively develop and implement employee engagement, social media and traditional media plans within a matrix environment, including multiple customers and stakeholders.
- Partner with HR counterparts on a regular basis to understand how HR activities impact AML staff to expand visibility
- Maintain daily news and information on AML’s intranet web portal and ensure timely communications of news and information for the site through a variety of media, including memos, news articles, presentations, video and digital signage.
- Prepare media monitoring comprehensive reports around key company news
- Support Amgen’s involvement in business and industry associations in Puerto Rico.
- Support relationship and strategic alliances with community organizations
- Supervise sponsorships and donations initiatives as needed
- Manage contracts and relationships with vendors; assess and recommend new vendors and opportunities for consideration
- Manage purchase orders and invoices

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate Degree
Or
Master’s degree and 2 years of public relations and corporate communications experience
Or
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of public relations and corporate communications experience
Or
Associate’s degree and 8 years of public relations and corporate communications experience
Or
High school diploma and 10 years of public relations and corporate communications experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Academic background in journalism, public relations or communications.
- Holds a valid Professional Public Relations License.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish, with ability to interact at multiple management levels.
- Media relations experience, including press releases and crisis communications.
- Skilled in social media and digital platforms for employee and external engagement.
- Experience handling content for intranet, digital signage, and internal communications.
- Knowledge of corporate compliance and communication regulations in a GMP environment.
- Experience in negotiation, managing external vendors, contracts, and budgets.
- Proficient with project management / organization tools to coordinate campaigns.
- Familiar with community engagement through sponsorship and corporate giving.
- Analytical skills to assess communication efficiency and adjust strategies, proposing and implementing solutions.
