Manager - HR Operations

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be responsible for supporting and optimizing the various India HR operational processes for Amgen India ensuring efficient and effective HR service delivery. This role involves handling various HR functions, including staff lifecycle management, HR systems administration, and compliance with local labor laws and regulations in India.

HR Administration

  • Employee Data Management: Maintain accurate employee records, including personnel files, employment history, and personal data.

  • Workday Data Management: Administer and maintain Workday for data entry, reporting, and systems integration.

  • Employee Onboarding & Offboarding: Handle the onboarding process, including employee documentation [payroll and benefits related like Insurance, Day Care etc]. Ensuring smooth offboarding of employees, including coordinating for full and final settlements, clearance checklists etc.

Benefits Administration

  • Benefits Administration: Oversee the administration of health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits, ensuring employees understand their options and assisting with enrolments or changes.

  • Leave and Attendance Management: Track and handle employee attendance, leave balances, and leave applications via Workday. Ensure alignment with company policy and compliance with statutory requirements.

Handling ServiceNow/ Local HR Page

  • Maintenance of ServiceNow

Employee Relations and Support

  • Employee Query Management: Act as the first point of contact for employee queries regarding HR policies, payroll, benefits, and other operational matters.

HR Policy & Process Development

  • Process Optimization: Continuously review HR processes to identify areas for improvement, increase efficiency, and enhance employee experience.

  • Documentation and Knowledge Management: Maintain a library of HR documents, policy manuals, templates, and FAQs to provide quick access to HR information.

Vendor and Contractor Management

  • Vendor Coordination: Manage HR-related vendors, including recruitment agencies, background check providers, benefits providers, and training consultants.

  • Service Level Monitoring: Ensure vendors meet agreed-upon service levels and manage contracts and renewals.

Technology and Digital Transformation

  • HR Systems Implementation and Maintenance: Oversee the implementation and upkeep of HR software, tools, and platforms to improve automation and efficiency.

  • Self-Service Tools for Employees: Create and maintain employee self-service options within HRIS, allowing employees to manage their personal data, view payroll information, and request leave independently

Data Security and Privacy

  • Safeguard employee data in compliance with local laws and relevant data protection regulations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree OR

  • Master’s degree and 4 to 6 years of Human Resource Operations experience OR

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6 to 8 years of Human Resource Operations experience OR

  • Diploma and 10 to 12 years of Human Resource Operations experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience within HR functions, including staff lifecycle management, HR systems administration, and compliance with local labor laws and regulations in India

  • Experience with HR software and systems: Preferably Workday

  • Solid knowledge of HR practices and regulations in India

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling HR tasks

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
