The Amgen India Digital Technology & Innovation Director for Enterprise Data & AI Solutions will be responsible for developing and leading a very hardworking data, software and AI engineering teams to companies' the companies ambition to transform how medicines are discovered, manufactured and commercialized through the use of effective data and AI solutions.

This role will be a critical thought leader in shaping Amgen’s strategy in the areas of AI solution delivery, data management, analytics and AI-driven automation. This leader will build a successful organization of approximately 200 people in India and will partner very closely with other Amgen delivery teams across the globe. Extensive collaboration with global teams is required to ensure seamless integration and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the end-to-end software development lifecycle of enterprise-scaled solutions and have previous experience building a large successful team from the ground-up. This role demands the ability to drive and deliver against key organizational critical initiatives, foster a collaborative environment, and deliver high-quality.

• Extensive Data Management & Software Engineering Experience: Leadership role in multiple enterprise-scale implementations of critical data platforms, analytics solutions or data management systems.
• Leadership and Team Management: Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and developing large multi-functional and geographically dispersed teams. This role will have a critical focus on building an innovative, inclusive workplace culture.
• Key Collaborator Management and Communication: Ability to engage and communicate effectively with executive leadership and key collaborators.
• Strategic Vision and Alignment: Capability to develop and communicate a clear platform strategy aligned with global business objectives, driving process digitization and innovation. Co-creation and collaboration with other senior leaders will be critical to realizing this vision.
• Scaled Agile Delivery: This organization will partner with other organizations across the company using Scaled Agile standard methodologies. Experience with SAFE project and portfolio management is a must.
• Financial Competence: Experience in financial management of large initiatives, including budget planning, execution, and alignment with business goals and financial targets.
• Vendor and Partner Management: Experience in managing relationships with large system integrators and technology, including forming strategic partnerships, negotiation and delivery oversight.
• Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and agile innovation, incorporating new technologies to enhance business performance.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Data Strategy Development: Partner with key collaborators across the organization to develop and complete a corporate-wide strategy to better manage and use connected data for analytics and AI to transform Amgen’s business aligned with Amgen's global objectives.
• Delivery & Collaboration Excellence: Amgen will continue to advance our Enterprise Data platforms through partnerships with prioritized functional initiatives, aligned to key business outcomes. This leader will be responsible for advancing common enterprise platform capabilities though close partnership on a diverse portfolio of business outcomes driven initiatives. This organization will be measured both on the ability to accelerate delivery and lower cost through the development of common enterprise capabilities and on the successful achievement of specific business outcomes from partnering functional initiatives.
• Data Management/Data Governance: Responsible for extending enterprise data governance practices to connect Amgen’s most critical data. This includes ownership of enterprise master data management, enterprise data governance, data quality and data integration services.
• Executive Engagement: Engage with executive leadership to communicate program statuses and outcomes, presenting a clear and compelling story.
• Enterprise-Scale Implementation and Maintenance: Lead the implementation and maintenance of all enterprise Data platforms across multiple global locations. Ensure systems remain modern, performant, compliant and cost effective.
• Team Leadership and Development: Manage, mentor, and develop a large and diverse team of product professionals, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
• Budget and Financial Management: Identify budget requirements, oversee financial execution, and ensure alignment with business goals and financial targets.
• Innovation and Technology Integration: Foster a culture of agile innovation, finding opportunities for process optimization and incorporating new technologies to enhance business performance

What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:

• Doctorate degree and 4 years of enterprise scaled software solution delivery and support
• Master’s degree and 14 to 16 years of enterprise scaled software solution delivery and support
• Bachelor’s degree and 16 to 18 years of enterprise scaled software solution delivery and support

Preferred Qualifications:

• Work experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
• Familiarity with SOX, GxP standards, and global data protection regulations
• Experience using and adopting Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Professional Certifications

• SAFe for Teams certification (Preferred)
