Summary
The Master Production Scheduler is responsible for planning and scheduling the production of multiple products across their assigned production module. This role requires strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. The Master Production Scheduler will ensure that production plans, project and non-commercial activities are aligned with the demand forecasts, inventory targets, capacity constraints, and business objectives.
The role reports directly to the Snr Mgr Supply Chain (Product Planning) and the successful candidate may on occasion be asked to act as delegate for this role.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the master production schedule for their assigned production module (production line(s)).
- Coordinate with manufacturing, engineering, and other supply chain teams to ensure that the production plan meets customer requirements and supports business goals.
- Analyse and resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise in the production planning and scheduling process, such as capacity bottlenecks, or schedule changes.
- Coordinate monthly planning cycle deliverables ensuring a feasible supply plan that both satisfies customer demand and reduces or eliminates any expiry risks.
- Engage with cross functional works owners to consolidate demand, prioritise project and commercial activities per business needs in alignment with site Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process.
- Lead Supply Management IBP processes (monthly Demand & Supply Review) for their assigned production module. In addition, support weekly cycle IBP processes as necessary.
- Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement and optimisation of the production planning and scheduling process.
- Partner closely with equivalent peers in Amgen global Supply Chain functions
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, supply chain management, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in production planning and scheduling, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in using production planning and scheduling software, such as SAP, Oracle, or Rapid Response, along with strong Excel & PowerPoint presentation skills.
- Understanding of factory utilisations and basic industrial engineering principles, and associated software packages
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to handle multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
