What you will do

Let’s do this! Let’s change the world! In this vital role, you will lead the digital transformation in healthcare, developing innovative solutions that improve the patient experience and optimize the work of healthcare professionals (HCPs) across the healthcare ecosystem. The goal will be to address key challenges such as patient identification, diagnosis, medical decision support, treatment adherence and side effect management, always through innovative solutions.

You will focus on creating value for the healthcare system beyond traditional pharmacological treatment, generating a sustainable impact on the entire patient journey.

Key responsibilities:

1. Lead Digital Health Innovation:

To develop innovative strategic digital solutions that enhance healthcare and hospital procedures by incorporating the patient's journey and feedback. This involves identifying needs, trends, and collaborations across therapeutic areas and leveraging digital advancements to improve diagnosis and patient care, ultimately providing value for all stakeholders within the healthcare system.

2. Engagement with Key Healthcare System Stakeholders:

Engage proactively with various healthcare stakeholders in Spain, including clinicians, patient associations, hospital managers, and pharmacists. This collaborative strategy is crucial for spotting synergies, trends, and opportunities to enhance patient care. To develop innovative strategic solutions aimed at all strategic stakeholders involved in the drug value chain.

3. Lead Patient-Centric strategy:

Develop and manage the patient advocacy strategy, introducing new perspectives and innovative ideas on how Amgen can effectively and distinctively stand out from other pharmaceutical firms in interactions with patient groups and more broadly within the healthcare environment.

  • Maintain and continue building valuable relationships with patient associations

  • Involve them in the early engagement plan of our drugs to better understand their needs. Maximize access through patient participation

  • Take advantage of synergies with Global to strengthen Patient Advocacy

Other responsibilities:

4. Support Early Access and Portfolio Optimization:

Discover emerging innovation trends and patient needs, then share insights with the local cross-functional team to develop the optimal strategy for company assets.  Be an active and critical cross functional team member developing and executing external engagement strategy in collaboration with Access, Marketing, Government Affairs, Communications and Medical teams.

5. Intra-entrepreneurial Capacity and Innovation Leadership:

Cultivate a continuous innovation mindset and spearhead change within the organization. Align the innovation strategy with department heads by implementing programs that enhance capabilities and introduce groundbreaking solutions.

Build strong, cooperative relationships with both existing and new stakeholders in the healthcare system to ensure that developed solutions align with Spain's actual healthcare needs and are successfully adopted by healthcare professionals and patients. Explore opportunities for partnerships with various entities and seek potential private-public collaborations.

What we expect of you

We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. What we seek in you as an experienced professional are these qualifications and skills:

  • Academic education or experience from similar positions (life science, communication science) .

  • Ideally 5 years working experience in an international pharmaceutical company (digital strategy, patient engagement, healthcare marketing).

  • Leading digital patient engagement programs or initiatives, preferably within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry. Experience with digital tools, platforms, and technologies relevant to pharmaceutical industry.

  • Proven experience in managing intricate projects and working with cross-functional teams. Skilled in handling projects involving public-private partnerships and/or those funded by EU.

  • Experience in working with patient advocacy groups to create innovative patient-centric solutions. Demonstrated proficiency working directly with leadership, including the ability to advise, influence, and coach on advocacy relations strategies around potentially sensitive issues.

  • Strategic and creative thinker with the ability to truly understand business challenges and priorities and develop actionable programs that integrate soundly with business objectives. Possess innovative thinking and the ability to foresee future trends in digital technology.

  • Experience in complex project management.

  • Deep knowledge of local access stakeholders and organizations.

  • Computer skills (MS Office programs).

  • Fluency in Spanish and English, both oral and written.

  • Effective communication skills at all levels both internally and externally.

  • Self-starting approach, creativity and flexibility.
