Bringing Voices
Together

At Amgen, our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are pillars within our professional communities. Individually, they reflect unique aspects of our global teams—aspects that may center around culture, business, or innovation. In each ERG, members of similar backgrounds and interests can connect to network, mentor, and work together to facilitate their professional growth.
With over 60 chapters and more than 11,000 members globally, we’re currently home to 12 ERGs including:

      Amgen Asian Association (AAA)
      Amgen Black Employee Network (ABEN)
Ability Bettered Through Leadership and Education (ABLE)
      Amgen Early Career Professionals (AECP)
  Amgen International Network (AIN)
Amgen South Asian Network (ASAN)
      Amgen Latin Employees Network (ALEN)
Amgen LGBTQ and Allies Network (PRIDE)
      Amgen Veteran Employee Network (AVEN)
Amgen Recognition of Indigenous Peoples, Values and Environmental Resources (RIVER)
Women Empowered to be Exceptional (WE2)
Women in Information Systems Enrichment (WISE)

A Stronger, Global Team

Though Amgen ERGs may focus around one subject or community, employees of all backgrounds and perspectives are invited to join any ERG. That’s because our ERGs serve to bring Amgen team members together, facilitating an all-inclusive, supportive community where everyone can share their experiences.

As a global team, it’s vital that we deliver treatments that account for patients of all backgrounds. ERGs play a pivotal role in providing the perspective we need, acting as nodes in a global network that bridge the gap between our work and the patients we impact.

Where Mentors and Mentees Meet

Each of our 12 global ERGs has a sponsor—a member within an executive leadership position who can represent and speak to the needs and goals of their respective group. While this is an important aspect to how ERGs can impact our mission as a whole, leadership involvement can go much further than representation.

Since ERGs are an excellent resource for new employees, they can make long-lasting connections with tenured peers through a mentorship. The arrangement is mutually beneficial—mentees can learn something new about where they can take their professional careers, while mentors can pick up new perspectives or ideas from the experience. And through ERGs, initiating these connections is made easier through regular events like leadership training, skill-building workshops, and more.

Lifting Up Community Voices

We believe our differences are not a barrier. They’re our strength. Through our differences, we can bring better science thanks to the diverse set of skills our team members offer.

That’s why our ERGs can also act as a mouthpiece for the communities they represent, providing the whole of Amgen with a better understanding of the needs and aspirations of today’s—and tomorrow’s—workforce. This understanding also furthers our commitment to fostering a culture of belonging, celebrating the many layers of identity that make each of our team members, and the communities they represent, unique and valued.
