In this vital role the Value & Access Insights Manager is responsible for providing varied commercial analytics to provide insights impacting patient support services through secondary data analytics and data integration. Manager will work under the guidance of a senior member of the Value & Access Insights Team to deliver for the assigned assets, as well as with the director on cross brand initiatives. Guided by a senior member of the team, the individual in this role will deliver analysis using PSP data, claims data, prescription data, copay claims data, and other internal/external data sources.

This position reports to a Senior Manager of Value & Access Analytics for Patient Support Services Analytics within Value & Access- Analytics and Insights team

  • Produce and deliver regular performance dashboards for Patient Access and Reimbursement team using internal patient support services data like copay card data, nurse program data etc and other syndicated data like IQVIA
  • Enhance, create, improve existing data reports, and or develop reports that are needed for patient access or technology team or business need
  • Understand pharmaceutical ecosystem and data sets including medial and pharmacy claims (ex. IQVIA LAAD, Symphony Claims), prescription (ex. IQVIA NPA), outlet (ex. IQVIA DDD)
  • Create data analytics models to generate strategic measurable business insights using SQL, R, Python and Microsoft Excel
  • Prepare, publish and continuously refine reports and data visualization tools tracking performance against business objective using Tableau
  • Perform advanced analytics including longitudinal patient level analysis, time series modeling, customer segmentation and issue diagnostics in support of business questions
  • Evaluate effectiveness of patient services in helping patients start and stay on their appropriately prescribed medicine; identify challenges and opportunities; provide meaningful insights / recommendations
  • Provide ad hoc analysis in response to business questions
  • Partner with Patient Access and Reimbursement team to develop and support patient access data strategies for short and long-term solutions, including project management, defining goals and priorities and measuring and tracking success (e.g., priority activities, integration & transformation support, data and analysis)
  • Work cross-functionally with the business units leads and other data partners including: digital technology innovation/ Information Systems, CD&A, and external vendors, as well as with internal partners to ensure maintenance of Amgen legal, regulatory, and compliance standards
  • Define data needs, including what data points are needed to diagnose fulfillment leakage and adherence support needs.
  • Using data skills and technology to better serve providers and patients, simplifying the experience, and supporting the journey to therapy.
  • Evaluate the future state of patient support services, seeking for opportunities to improve integration points across the patient journey or collaborator and patient access capabilities

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

OR

Master’s degree 2 years of relevant analytics experience

Or

Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of relevant analytics experience

Or

Associate’s degree and 8years of relevant analytics experience

Or

High school diploma / GED and 10 years of relevant analytics experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of marketing analytics in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience with advanced spreadsheets and automated data visualization software (e.g. Tableau, Spotfire)
  • Experience in database languages (e.g. SQL)
  • Ability to think strategically to support key business decisions
  • Ability to work collaboratively in team-based environment across different functional groups
  • Demonstrated analytical skills—understands the strengths and limitations of different analytical approaches and their findings
  • Skill in handling multiple responsibilities, priorities, tasks and projects simultaneously
