What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world! In this vital role the Global Commercial Insights Manager will drive commercial insights generation that shapes strategy and key decisions for Amgen's pipeline. This may include, but is not limited to, synthesis of internal knowledge, primary market research, and strategic secondary analytics.

The individual in this role is a collaborative business partner that can influence the commercial view for product strategy, brand building, and decisions for internal governance. They are a passionate champion of insights-driven strategy and grounded in objective decision-making. Given the dynamic nature of pipeline programs, the individual in this role can bring an adaptive approach and has a willingness to solve ambiguous problems with creative solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Integrate insights from a variety of sources (e.g., market research, competitive intelligence, secondary data, advisory boards) to address business needs

  • Plan, design and conduct primary market research with a research agency to enable strategic decision-making

  • Conduct ad hoc strategic secondary analytics to inform key business decisions

  • Design and facilitate workshops to foster critical discussions among cross-functional partners

  • Present findings and recommendations across a variety of audiences and forums

This position reports to a Global Insights Director, within Commercial Data and Analytics (CD&A) but will work day-to-day with Global partners including Marketing, Value & Access, Forecasting, Commercial Analytics, etc.

Flexible Commuter role to Thousand Oaks, US Headquarter site. Work will be on-site for a minimum of 2 days each week.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

OR

Master’s degree and 2 years of market research and/or analytics experience

OR

Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of market research and/or analytics experience

OR

Associate’s degree and 10 years of market research and/or analytics experience

Or

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of market research and/or analytics experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to independently extract, evaluate and synthesize data and information from a variety of sources with rigor and accuracy

  • Skilled in developing relationships with partners, proactive management of multiple stakeholders, and project prioritization

  • Experience leading primary market research

  • Strategic thinker who provides actionable recommendations, translates insights into a compelling story, and influences key decisions

  • Demonstrated track record working collaboratively and adaptively in team-based, cross-functional environments

  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills with ability to explain complex concepts clearly to a variety of audiences

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the healthcare ecosystem and drug commercialization with specific experience in oncology

  • Experience with commonly used biopharmaceutical industry datasets and databases

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
