Senior Manager Global Procurement – Strategic Capability Enablement
What you will do

Amgen is seeking a Senior Manager Global Procurement-Strategic Capability Enablement to help drive the advancement of procurement capabilities across the enterprise. This role is ideal for a collaborative individual who thrives in ambiguity, can translate strategy into execution, and is passionate about building high-impact capabilities in people, processes, technology, and analytics.
Reporting to the Associate Director Global Procurement -Strategic Capability Center Lead, you will lead and manage key initiatives that support the evolution of Amgen’s global procurement organization. You will work cross-functionally to ensure that the capability roadmap is executed effectively, and that improvements are measurable, scalable, and aligned with organizational priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the procurement capability framework, including definitions, scope, and supporting processes within assigned areas.
- Support annual benchmarking efforts at the capability level to inform planning and support future-state strategy.
- Drive execution of priority initiatives across people, process, technology, and analytics that enable procurement excellence.
- Identify gaps and opportunities, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 2 years of procurement, strategy, or capability enablement experience
Or
Master’s degree and 4 years of procurement, strategy, or capability enablement experience
Or
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of procurement, strategy, or capability enablement experience
Or
Associate’s degree and 10 years of procurement, strategy, or capability enablement experience
Or
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of procurement, strategy, or capability enablement experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience in procurement, capability development, or strategic program execution.
- 2+ years project management role, preferably within a global matrix environment.
- Strong ability to manage frameworks, roadmaps, and process governance in alignment with enterprise goals.
- Skilled in coordinating across cross-functional teams, with a strong understanding of procurement ecosystems.
- Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Exposure to benchmarking methodologies and strategic procurement planning
- Experience with analytical and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Familiarity with e-Sourcing platforms (Ariba, Coupa, Jaggaer, iValua) and CLM tools (Workday Strategic Sourcing, Sirion Labs).
- Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to influence across levels.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and evolving priorities.
- Self-starter with high initiative and accountability.
- Effective in leading global and virtual teams.
- Collaborative mindset with a focus on results and execution.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
