Associate Director Global Procurement, Change & Talent Lead

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. We are seeking an individual who thrives in ambiguity, capable of leading change management and talent development strategies with speed and precision.

In this vital role, you will serve as the Change & Talent Lead responsible for developing and maintaining the overall change management, learning, and communications strategies to support the multi-year strategic roadmap for Procurement. This role will ensure alignment with organizational objectives and drive the successful execution of change initiatives, professional development programs, and communication strategies to enable Amgen’s mission and goals.

As part of the Center of Excellence (COE), you will act as a subject matter expert (SME) for change management programs, develop and implement professional development strategies, and lead cross-functional communications to support transformation initiatives. The role will also oversee program management activities for key projects, ensuring effective scope, schedule, and partner management to deliver value.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the Procurement change management strategy to support the multi-year strategic roadmap and initiatives.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for various change management programs across Procurement.
  • Design and maintain the professional development strategy, including competency models, skills roadmaps, and training programs.
  • Lead mid-year/year-end performance review cycle deliverables and succession planning exercise.
  • Coordinate and manage central training programs, liaising with partners to identify and track training needs across the function.
  • Develop and maintain the Procurement communications strategy to support the multi-year roadmap and transformation initiatives.
  • Implement project management activities for transformation projects, including scope, schedule, resource allocation, and risk management.
  • Lead and deliver specific training sessions as required to support functional and strategic capability development.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities within change, learning, and communication processes to drive efficiencies and value.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 3 years of experience in change management, learning strategy, talent development, and/or related fields, with a strong focus on driving strategic initiatives and organizational transformation.

Or

Master’s degree and 5 years of experience in change management, learning strategy, talent development, and/or related fields, with a strong focus on driving strategic initiatives and organizational transformation.

Or

Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of experience in change management, learning strategy, talent development, and/or related fields, with a strong focus on driving strategic initiatives and organizational transformation.

Or

Associate’s degree and 12 years of experience in change management, learning strategy, talent development, and/or related fields, with a strong focus on driving strategic initiatives and organizational transformation.

Or

High school diploma / GED and 14 years of experience in change management, learning strategy, talent development, and/or related fields, with a strong focus on driving strategic initiatives and organizational transformation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in change management, learning strategy, or talent development, preferably within a procurement or related function.
  • Strong ability to design and implement frameworks, roadmaps, and processes that support organizational transformation.
  • Expertise in training program development, competency modeling, and professional development strategies.
  • Experience with analytical tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
  • Experience with Global Procurement e-Sourcing (Ariba, Coupa, Workday Strategic Sourcing etc.) and CLM Tools (e.g., Ariba, Sirion Labs)
  • Excellent communication and partner management skills to drive alignment and execution of change, learning, and communication initiatives.
  • Analytical approach with a focus on program management, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and deliver measurable outcomes in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies to ensure effective execution of strategic projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with global, virtual teams

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
