What you will do

In this vital role you will serve as a strategic integrator, driving cross-functional alignment, operational readiness, and capability uplift across RDO and Amgen high-priority initiatives. This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless integration of new processes, systems, and teams, while also building sustainable capabilities that support long-term organizational growth.
This role will provide integration capability leadership through leading the planning and execution of acquisition-related integrations, such as when Amgen acquires a company or product into our portfolio. The focus will be on activities across functions, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and timelines. This role will identify interdependencies, risks, and mitigation strategies across integration workstreams. It will serve as the primary liaison between RDO and enabling functions (e.g., Operations, Commercial, R&D) to ensure cohesive execution. It will also act as a delegate in key forums, decision-making bodies, and stakeholder engagements during Integrations. This role will prepare executive summaries, decision memos, and briefing materials for leadership reviews. It will drive timely prioritization and decision-making aligned with stakeholder expectations.
The Business Performance Senior Manager will be responsible for high-priority Amgen initiatives; examples may include designing and implementing frameworks for capability development, documentation standards, training programs, and process simplification. This role will partner with project and functional teams as relevant to deploy or embed standard processes. It will lead or support RASCI development, role clarity, and resource alignment across transformation initiatives.
The role will develop and maintain integrated project plans, timelines, and governance models. It will also facilitate cross-functional workshops and task forces to accelerate delivery and resolve blockers. Additionally, it will support change management efforts including partner engagement, communications, and training.
The Senior Manager Business Performance will gather, analyze, and synthesize cross-functional information across a variety of sources to turn unstructured business issues and requests into appropriate transformation mapping, implementation plans, and high-quality deliverables. This individual will also support program level presentations and reports that clearly summarize status, issues, implications and recommendations to key partners to inform and communicate decision making.
This role will support overall implementation of complex cross-functional projects, often parachuting into critical workstreams to de-bottleneck and/or accelerate performance.
Ongoing project work will focus on active integrations and past integration work and resulting capabilities and continuous improvement, with the opportunity to flex across the Amgen enterprise in the future.
This role will be accountable for:
- Supporting ongoing implementation of a consistent integration methodology
- Establishing and maintaining a knowledge management system for integration capability
- Providing guidance to functional teams on project milestone planning and execution
- Conducting program-level impact analysis to identify potential challenges and risks, and support the development of mitigation plans
- Collaborating with cross-functional partners on implementation planning and execution
- Identifying and implementing best practices and lessons learned to continuously improve the transformation process

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 2 years of Scientific and/or Operations and/or Business (i.e. Management Consulting) experience
Or
Master’s degree and 4 years of Scientific and/or Operations and/or Business (i.e. Management Consulting) experience
Or
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of Scientific and/or Operations and/or Business (i.e. Management Consulting) experience
Or
Associate’s degree and 10 years of Scientific and/or Operations and/or Business (i.e. Management Consulting) experience
Or
High School Diploma/GED and 12 years of Scientific and/or Operations and/or Business (i.e. Management Consulting) experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Deep expertise in change and project management, including the ability to work with and synthesize inputs from cross-functional subject matter experts, often in highly technical fields.
- Strong background in biopharma with a focus on strategic problem solving and transformation
- Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, Project Management Professional, or equivalent
- 2+ years of cross-functional consulting and/or project management experience
- Excellent conceptual problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to bring structure to vaguely defined problems, pragmatically scope problem solving approach, and manage execution
- Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to influence different styles
- Ability to navigate and align stakeholders
- Experience building strong relationships in cross-functional teams
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to storyline and prepare executive-level discussion documents
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytic skills

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
