Senior Analyst, Fleet Operations

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. The US Field Excellence team provides guidance and support to the sales organization by optimizing the field experience through Field Effectiveness, Incentive Compensation, Field Operations, and Field Systems and Capabilities Transformation.

The Sr. Analyst, Fleet Operations supports the execution of Amgen’s fleet program in partnership with Wheels, our third-party fleet management provider. This role provides data-driven insights, operational support, and cross-functional coordination to ensure efficient, compliant, and high-quality fleet services for our Field Sales, Medical, and Government Affairs teams.

The Sr Analyst, Fleet Operations at Amgen will report to the Manager, Fleet Operations and support managing general aspects of the fleet program.

Flexible Commuter role to Deerfield, IL office. You will work on-site 2-3 days a week.

Operational Support

  • Assist in managing vehicle lifecycle operations including ordering, deliveries, registration, maintenance tracking, and decommissioning.
  • Coordinate with Wheels to support vehicle assignments for new hires and offboarding logistics for departing employees.
  • Respond to fleet-related inquiries from field staff and escalate issues appropriately.

Vendor Coordination

  • Serve as a point of contact for day-to-day communication with Wheels, ensuring timely response to service requests, incident resolution, and driver support issues.
  • Monitor adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs) and escalate performance concerns to management.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Maintain and update fleet reports and dashboards to monitor metrics such as fuel usage, mileage, delivery timelines, and maintenance activity.
  • Assist in analyzing performance trends and cost drivers; contribute to fleet utilization and optimization initiatives.

Compliance & Safety

  • Support compliance efforts by tracking Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) checks, accident reports, insurance documentation, and telematics alerts.
  • Collaborate with EHS and other internal partners on safety-related tasks and driver behavior monitoring.

Program Process Improvement

  • Participate in cross-functional discussions to identify areas for process enhancement.
  • Contribute to Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives by supporting evaluations and implementing standard operating procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

Master’s degree

OR

Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of fleet management, logistics, transportation, or operations – ideally in a regulated industry (eg. pharmaceutical, medical devices, biotech)

OR

Associate’s degree and 6 years of fleet management, logistics, transportation, or operations – ideally in a regulated industry (eg. pharmaceutical, medical devices, biotech)

OR

High school diploma / GED and 8 years of fleet management, logistics, transportation, or operations – ideally in a regulated industry (eg. pharmaceutical, medical devices, biotech)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fleet Operations: Experience in corporate fleet operations or transportation support
  • 3rd Party Providers: Familiarity with third-party fleet management providers (e.g., Wheels)
  • Technical: Proficient in Microsoft 365 suite of applications; knowledge of telematics or fleet tracking systems a plus
  • Detail Oriented: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Communication: Clear communicator with ability to collaborate across departments
  • Self-Starter: Capable of managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines independently

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
