Ireland - Dun Laoghaire APLICAR AHORAThis position will be part of the Site F&E (Facilities & Engineering) group and the successful candidate will form part of the sites Utility Team acting as one of the site's subject matter experts, working alongside the senior electrical engineer on all items electrical, ensuring electrical standards are maintained, systems are designed, installed and commissioned in line with national and plant standards. He/she reports to the Sr. Manager – Utilities Engineering.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Drive safe execution of works in compliance with site, corporate and regulatory authority guidelines
• Support the maintenance and operation of critical electrical systems including:
• MV Switchgear systems
• Unit Substations/Transformers
• LV Distribution Systems/LV Switchgear/Distribution boards/MCCs
• Centralised and De Centralised Generator Systems
• UPS systems
• Lightning protection system
• Life Safety Systems – Fire Detection & Prevention systems / Gas Detection Systems.
• Lighting and General Service Systems
• Develop and expand on the site’s Electrical maintenance plans.
• Support the site team in planning, scheduling and executing electrical shutdowns.
• Development and maintain the site’s electrical specifications and drawings.
• Participate in project lifecycle through concept, scoping, detailed design, execution, commissioning and close-out using the Capital Projects team’s Engineering Project Delivery process.
• Review installation works for quality and participate in system walkdowns and turnover.
• Coordinate with site EHS department on matters where an SME electrical input is needed
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical).
• 2+ years’ experience in the Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology industries.
• Knowledge of safety, GMP and environmental regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge of electrical installations including interpretation and understanding of electrical drawings, schematics and standards.
• Detailed knowledge of I.S. 10101 National Rules of Electrical Installations
• Knowledge of life safety standards; I.S. 3217 Emergency Lighting and I.S. 3218 Fire Detection and Fire Alarm systems
• Understanding of mechanical systems and their interface with electrical infrastructure
• Experience inspecting electrical installations and producing detailed observation reports. Knowledge of electrical regulatory guidelines and compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated strong Communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Proficiency in the use of electrical software tools (e.g. Amtech, Dialux)
• Proficiency in use Microsoft Office software suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
• Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
