Operations Project Manager

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will gain a breadth of experience across Operations and build leadership capabilities. Operations is one of three core functions at Amgen with a mission to manufacture and deliver safe and effective medicine to patients around the world. In this role you will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects within budget and timeline.

Responsibilities:

  • Support cross-functional teams to get results velocity through aligned roadmaps and deliverables
  • Organize and facilitate meetings (agenda, minutes, ensure presentations pre-reads a distributed, and follow through action items to completion)
  • Tracking of critical team initiatives, calling out risks and dependencies that may impact project scope, timelines, and commitments

  • Ability to apply research findings, gather information, interpret and analyze findings; develop and finally implement a logical and strategic plan of action
  • Ability to make supportable recommendations to help achieve goals
  • Strong project management skills, proficiency in logistic planning from beginning to end, priority setting, deliver results on time and multi-tasking
  • Ability to think critically, proactively anticipate problems and propose solutions
  • Ability to work effectively/collaboratively across teams, levels of management, across partnerships, leverage contact network to motivate diverse teams, and enable cross-functional collaborations
  • Ability to work independently and with ambiguity

What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

Or

Master’s degree and 3 years of Project Management experience

Or

Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of Project Management experience

Or

Associate’s degree and 10 years of Project Management experience

Or

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Project Management experience

In addition to meeting at least one of the above requirements, you must have experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation or resources. Your managerial experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced above

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP or Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Experience working in biotech, pharma, or manufacturing operations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Project, Power BI)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience leading process improvement or change management initiatives

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
