Business Performance Manager
What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing complex projects, priority Initiatives and programs across the Technology and Data Portfolio. The resource will partner with the project manager to develop budgets, update forecast and provide variance analysis through the implementation of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Management & Financial Controls
- Develop, track, and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow plans.
- Adhere to cost control processes to monitor commitments, expenditures, variances, and trends.
- Review contractor and vendor invoices for accuracy and alignment with contract terms.
- Lead monthly cost reviews and provide actionable insights to project leadership.
- Support development of capital funding requests and financial approvals.
- Adhoc reclasses, accruals and meta data change submissions as needed throughout the project execution.
Schedule Development & Management
- Oversee creation and maintenance of integrated master schedules for complex programs.
- Ensure schedule logic, sequencing, resource loading, and critical path are accurate and optimized.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
- Facilitate schedule reviews and alignment between engineering, construction, operations, and third-party partners.
Risk Management
- Facilitate risk identification, qualitative/quantitative assessments, and mitigation strategies.
- Identify, document, and track risks and opportunities; ensure appropriate mitigation strategies are implemented.
- Develop and maintain risk registers and produce periodic risk reports for leadership.
- Coordinate change control processes, including evaluation of cost/schedule impacts.
- Ensure all project changes are documented, approved, and reflected in forecasts.
Project Reporting & Governance
- Ensure project controls processes align with corporate governance, PMO standards, and industry best practices.
- Participate in stage-gate reviews, readiness assessments, and independent project evaluations.
- Prepare monthly project controls reports summarizing cost, schedule, risks, and progress.
- Provide leadership with data insights and decision support.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Build strong partnerships with project managers, Portfolio Financial Managers, finance, procurement, and external partners.
- Facilitate cross-functional communication to keep stakeholders aligned and informed.
Tools, Systems, & Process Development
- Advocate for process improvements that enhance forecasting accuracy and project predictability.
- Provide input on project controls standards, templates, and best-practice guidelines.

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree
OR
Master’s degree and 2 years of Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance, or related field experience
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance, or related field experience
OR
Associate’s degree and 8 years of Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance, or related field experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 10 years of Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance, or related field experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in project controls or project management supporting large-scale capital projects.
- Certifications such as PMP, EVP, PSP, or PMI-SP are strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with cost engineering, scheduling, earned value management, and risk analysis.
- Experience leading project controls teams in engineering, construction, biotech/pharma, or manufacturing environments.
- Advanced proficiency with project controls software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, ARES PRISM, EcoSys).
- Strong Excel and data analytics skills; familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) is an asset.
- Knowledge of contracting strategies, procurement processes, and financial forecasting.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
